Congratulations to History Day Competitors!

The 6th graders have been working on their History Day projects since October.  This is a massive research project, the topic of which needs to be connected to a theme. This year's theme was Leadership and Legacy.  We had our school competition at the end of February and the regionals competition last night.  All their hard work has paid off - TCGIS students scored one honorable mention and SIX
spots in the state competition!
  • Helen Sinning - Honorable Mention (Individual Documentary, "Archibald Bush: Leaving a Long-Term Legacy")
  • Noa Winikoff and Anika Weeding - State Finalists (Group Performance, "Eva Gay: The Woman Behind Labor Reform")
  • Lexie Rauer and Isabella Williams - State Finalists (Group Performance, "The First External, Battery-Powered, Wearable Pacemaker")
  • Luca Sektnan and Frannie Crego - State Finalists (Group Performance, "Bob Dylan: Songs Inspiring Protesters in the 1960's")
  • Lydia White and Ava Hansen - State Finalists (Group Performance, "The Dred Scott Case of 1857")
  • Jon Van Slyke and Akili Crawford - State Finalists (Group Website, "Charles A. Lindbergh: A Minnesotan and Leader in Flight")
  • Izzy Botz - State Finalist (Individual Exhibit, "Laura Ingalls Wilder")
Capstone Benefit Event - Come Play!

Calling all artists, musicians and other performers for the Capstone Benefit Event on April 12! We are looking for musicians and performers within the TCGIS community, including family and friends, who would be willing to play/perform at the Capstone Benefit event in April.

This Spring the 8th graders will go on their Capstone Trip to Germany. This trip is made possible partly through generous donations. The Capstone Benefit Event will be on Sunday, April 12 at TCGIS, starting at 2:30pm. It will be an afternoon of "Kaffee und Kuchen" and artistic entertainment. If you are interested in performing, please contact Sylvia Oxenham by March 30.

Vielen Dank!
