Give to the Max Day!
Thursday, November 13
Are you ready for Give to the Max Day? Next Thursday, November 13 is Give to the Max Day. Thanks to the generous support of our board and leadership gifts, we were able to increase this year's goal to $35,000. The first $17,500 will be matched 1:1. This means that your gift to TCGIS will count twice! All contributions will support our wonderful Amity Intern program. Your donation will help ensure that there are two German-speaking teachers in every classroom-all day long! What a gift you will give the students at TCGIS.
In addition, every gift made on November 13 helps our chances of winning grant prize dollars. For example, Golden Tickets are given every hour. Each hour, one donation will be randomly selected to add $1,000 to the amount (TCGIS has won these in the past!).
So mark your calendar for Give to the Max Day, Thursday, November 13. Or, if you'd rather do it now while it's on your mind, schedule your gift today. You can schedule your gift, and it will automatically be donated on Give to the Max Day. To learn more, visit TCGIS Give to the Max Day 2014.
Help us to spread the spark of giving and remind your friends to mark their calendars. With your help, we will reach our goal of $35,000 in support of our beloved Amity Interns. Thank you for participating in this years Give to the Max drive! |

Robotics with Chad Prater!
Our 7&8 grade tech teacher, Chad Prater, rocks the robots!
Chad Prater's tech/robotics class this year is based on the First Lego League (FLL) organization and is aimed at introducing our 7th and 8th grade students to the fun and excitement of science and technology. In our classroom the children do most of the work in teams of up to ten students. The main work students engage in includes learning to program an autonomous robot to score points on a thematic surface, as well as creating innovative solutions to a problem, all while being guided by the FLL Core Values. Students are learning skills in the areas of team building, problem solving, and technology that will benefit them as they encounter the challenges of higher education and entering the workforce. It is a perfect example of student driven inquiry, they are presented with problems and through active investigation find solutions to the problems.

Dress your Kids to Impress Old Man Winter!
With the colder weather approaching, please make sure that your children are well prepared for the lower temperatures.
- Don't forget extra layers, including mittens, hats, boots, and scarves to ensure children stay warm outside.
- Consider healthy snacks that give an extra energy boost to stay warm in winter.
- Please follow the drop off (7:50-8:10am) and pick up (3:15-3:30pm) procedures and wait in line patiently. Staff is working hard to load children quickly and efficiently as the weather becomes more challenging.
