We're still looking for host families for our Fall '14 and Spring '15 Interns!
Create an intercultural experience within your own home by hosting a German Amity intern. Let your children benefit socially and academically from a native German speaker in your home!
"Living with our intern has been a wonderful experience for us. It has been so nice for us to have a friendly, upbeat adult in the house, for chatting, for getting updated about my old home country, and of course, to help with things like homework or watching the kids while we go grocery shopping. " says a current host-family.
If you're interested in hosting or supporting an Amity intern, please fill out the online form here. This is only an expression of interest at this time, and not an absolute commitment or promise. For more information about our Amity program and hosting an intern, please go to the TCGIS website or contact Isabel Vollenweider. |
Thanks for a Wonderful Acrobatics Show!
On May 14, all TCGIS Middle School students surprised and amazed with an Acrobatic Journey around the world.
Already after Christmas the students started to work with their sport teacher Tanja Schmitt and her intern Johannes Balletshofer on the physical skills needed for this complex sport. Over the course of three months and with the help of the new intern Katharina Ludwig, the skills and motivation improved in a way that allowed us to start dreaming of putting together a big show. While Tanja Schmitt wrote the script, picked out the music and pictures for the story, the students signed up for groups and came up with their own ideas on how to visualize the landmarks and cultural characteristics of the countries we were going to represent. The training focused on teamwork, communication, creativity, trust, reliability, and courage. The result was a fabulous show, cheered on by the K-4 audience in the afternoon and by family, friends, and fans in the evening.
