Welcome Back 8th Graders Capstone Trip Returns
TCGIS would like to wel ome back it's 8th graders from our first annual Capstone Trip to Germany. The 8th grade left Friday, March 1st and spent two weeks touring various German cities, including Berlin, Münster, Cologne. They also took the train from Berlin for a brief visit to Amsterdam. Eighth-grader Andreas reported,
"We walked everywhere. It was very tiring. " Abby said about her experience,
"We made friends for life with the host kids and learned a lot about German culture and history."
Emily remembered,
"At the beginning we didn't really talk as much to our host families, but towards the end our teacher had to tell us to stop talking. Not just to our host families but our whole group. We also reconnected with a teacher, Frau Fritsche, who taught us for several years, then moved back Berlin."
Paul said, "One time that was really tiring was when we were outside when we were touring the museums, because it was really cold out. But we had a really great time anyway."
The eight-graders would like to give a sincere thanks to everyone who helped make their trip a success including chaperones, Frau Schwalbach, Frau Kocher, and Frau Reith, as well as everyone on the Capstone Committee, especially Frau Oxenham, Frau Moeller, and Frau Vader. |
