Virtually Transformed: Special Collections in the Digital Age

The newest exhibit in Archives & Special Collections gives visitors a sneak peek behind the scenes in the library. Virtually Transformed addresses how preservation of special collections has been transformed by the digital age. It also examines how innovations in technology have provided broader access and opened new channels for students and researchers to interact with rare materials and historical records.

This exhibition also comes with an invitation for the community to participate. Learn how you can be a part of it here

The exhibition will be on display through May 11, and is open to all Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

2/25 Faculty Pub Night: The Theology of Battlestar Galactica

The second Faculty Pub Night of the semester features Kevin Wetmore, Professor and Chair of Theatre Arts at LMU. (Also an actor, director, stunt man, and stand up comedian.)

Professor Wetmore - who also earned a degree in Theological studies from LMU while on faculty here - will be discussing his book The Theology of Battlestar Galactica: American Christianity in the 2004-2009 series (McFarland 2012).

All Pub Nights are free and open to everyone! Pub refreshments and snacks will be served, and copies of the book will be available for sale and signing.

Relax in the Stacks: Massage at the Library

This is the second semester of Relax in the Stacks, a joint initiative with LMU Fitwell (part of Campus Recreation). Every Wednesday, all semester long, you can make an appointment for a 30-minute session with a certified massage therapist between 4:30-9 p.m.

All massages take place in the library, so you don't have to go very far for a study break! Cost is $20 for students, and $25 for faculty, staff, and alumni.

Last semester, the entire series sold out before week eight!

Have you booked your appointment yet?

Happy Valentine's Day!

The header for this month's newsletter, and the image at left, are both from one of our most beloved collections, the Werner von Boltenstern Postcard Collection

We will be giving out limited edition Valentine's Day buttons at service desks this Friday featuring images from this collection - and you can also purchase items ranging from mugs to cards to stickers at the LMU Library's Zazzle store. (For those who are planning ahead, we also have a marvelous variety of Easter products!)
