Summer Fun
Science Camps!

Catawba Science Center is excited to unveil the 2015 Summer Fun Science Camps. Enroll your child into Catawba Science Center's Summer Fun Camps, and watch your child discover the joys of science and wonder for themselves! CSC's Summer Fun is aimed toward rising Pre-K - 9th grade, though campers must be at least 4 years old, with a multitude of classes aimed at every age group within that range.

Join CSC's own Lead Naturalist Bruce Beerbower in a class teaching all about what it takes to become a naturalist, or take a class to learn about the different galaxies scattered all around the universe. Campers can even embark on an African Safari, find out what the deal is with electricity and, of course, learn about dinosaurs!

CSC's Summer Fun is more flexible than ever. Now with hands-on SciFun classes, Sunrise Science and Afternoon Adventure options, it is easier than ever to work Summer Fun Science Camps into even the busiest schedules. Not to mention, after 6 SciFun classes have been purchased, a 7th SciFun class is awarded to the camper for free! Furthermore, every SciFun camper will receive a free t-shirt!

Summer Fun runs from June 15 to August 21.

Italian Dinner 2015!

The 29th Annual Italian Dinner hosted by the CSC Guild on March 29th at Lake Hickory Country Club was a huge success! A sell-out crowd of 330 people attended and enjoyed an evening of dinner, dancing, and auctions all to support the great work we do every day at CSC!

Highlights from the evening were the live auction which was emceed by past Board President Roger Young and long-time CSC supporter Chad East, special presentations to Carol Robinson and Charlie Dixon for support of CSC's endowments, and to the 20/20 band for providing live entertainment as guests danced the night away. It is rewarding to see so many of our guests, who grew up going to the Creative Museum for Youth (now the Catawba Science Center), returning to support CSC's Italian Dinner.

A special Fund-A-Cause raised over $35,000 for renovation of the beloved Raceways exhibit! This exhibition will reopen on May 23rd with many exciting activities.

Thanks to CSC's outstanding Guild volunteers and supporters, this Italian Dinner was the most successful event. Thanks also to everyone for being so generous to ensure that we can continue to offer top-notch science education to our community.

If you have any questions about the 2016 Italian Dinner or if you are interested in volunteering for the CSC Guild please contact Taylor Young at 322-8619 x313.
