BYE HOLIDAYS!

Summer is one of the seasons most awaited by the girls of the Home, it is the time that the friends and sponsors from  different parts of the United States to visit them to share a special time, a time of love, reflection and sharing of experiences and strengthen friendships.

Our Little Roses gives thanks to the 2014 Summer Groups: St. Phillips - Coral Gables, Charlotte Padrinos - NC, St. George's - Nashville, TN, St. Thomas, Whitemarsh - PA, St. James - Richmond, VA, St. Mary's BTS - San Francisco, CA, Christ, Church, Alexandria, VA, St. Luke's, Orlando, FL, those groups are integral part of the development of OLRM.

Thank you friends!

I AM AN ARTIST!

Was the theme that The Charlotte Padrinos had for their week at OLRM. From puppetry to poetry, and painting to photography, the group encouraged the girls to express themselves through various art mediums. At the end of the week their art was displayed.

St. George's does a combination of activities that include a "Dragon Camp" Program sponsored by their Kindergarten's class. The girls enjoyed coloring, painting, beading, cooking and decorating beach bags. Every year they paint the school classrooms and hallways, they are professionals in painting after all of these years.

MI CASITA!

Yell the girls from OLRM every afternoon that they go to the back yard where they play with their dolls and toys in the beautiful little house built by St. James's group from Richmond, VA. This is like a dream to come true! The group also did many other activities that make their relationship deeper.

I WON!

Yelled Rocio at the same time that a big smile was drawn in her mouth when she won a game of cards. A full calendar of activities was developed during the week involving painting projects, outings, handcrafts, art, among other activities with Christ Church in Alexandria.

FAMILY, IT'S ALL ABOUT FAMILY.

"I don't know how to break up a drug gang, or how to stop Americans from buying drugs. But I do know that there is a beautiful and different type of family in Honduras that is trying to make a difference for the future of their country." said Brita right after her church St. Mary's By The Sea from San Francisco, CA visited OLRM.

It is amazing to be witness of the love and commitment of the groups when the girls ask them to play dolls, cards or just lie down and be children again. The week passed rapidly while the group members accomplished the project of painting the wall and playing with the girls.

"I am sorry that there are children in Honduras who will never go to school, never write a poem, or have the chance to invent something or play an instrument, and worse, many will suffer great hardship trying to walk to the US with the hope of something better. I don't know how to help these refugee children, but it is my hope that supporting OLRM, this big wonderful family, we can help transform girls' live and nurture some of the future leaders of Honduras." ended Brita in her reflection of her trip.

EVEN WHEN I DON'T UNDERSTAND, JESUS LOVES ME!

Was the answer to all the questions that the girls wrote in one of the activities that they did with St. Luke's Cathedral's group. "The fact that one of the OLR girls invited Jesus into her heart for the very first time during one of the services, gave us the confirmation of the reason to be at OLR" said Anne Taylor, leader of the group.

HONORING THE TIAS

Elegant dressed, one by one, the Tias from OLRM were shown to the delicious lunch in the well decorated room where they were honored for their hard work by the Cathedral of St. Luke's. The tias deserve this recognition for their tireless work and efforts to provide the girls the best care to transform their lives.

THANK YOU TIAS!

With Love,

Sponsor A Child

There are many ways to support Our Little Roses, but one of the most valuable is to sponsor a girl. This gives the home an assurance of a steady source of support for a girl for several years -- hopefully until she becomes an adult. Sponsorships are $720 per year, which may seem like a lot, but paid quarterly ($180) or monthly ($60) is quite manageable.

If you sponsor a girl, you will receive a certificate and a photo, and you are welcome to correspond with the girl you sponsor.

Or you may wish to sponsor the educational tuition for one of our girls attending Holy Family Bilingual School, a special needs private school or university. Education is vital to transforming their lives.
