Here we go! School is back in session, football is on the TV, Fall is right around the corner and it's only about 115 days until Christmas! Life is about to get really busy again. And, there are a lot of things going on at Range USA, too!
We are currently gearing up for our 5th Annual Zombie Night Event! Be sure to check out the Zombie Night website and the Zombie Night Facebook page for all the up to date details. We are also calling for volunteers for this year's event! Read the articles in the newsletter for more details.
We still have our 3rd Quarter Promotions going on - Free Class with firearm purchase, half-priced memberships, and free lane fees for new customers.

| RUZAT Training Sessions | |
The Overview -
These RUZAT (Range USA Zombie Annihilation Team) Training Sessions will instruct you on the use of several firearms and other various weapons (edged weapons) for the purpose of defeating the attacking Zombie Horde. In addition to the weapons training, you will receive other great information in disaster preparedness, developing a "bug-out" bag, first aid, and tons of other stuff that will help make you the best, most prepared Zombie Hunter you can be! All RUZAT Training Sessions will be conducted by the amazing instructors of Range USA! Each training session will be different and will focus on a particular skill set, weapon type, preparedness training, etc. Attend one session and you will receive your Level 1 RUZAT Patch. Attend 2 sessions and you will receive your Level 2 RUZAT Patch. Attend all 3 sessions and you will receive your Level 3 RUZAT Patch. Each patch level will receive a certain discount on ZN5 tickets and merchandise and will enjoy promotions throughout the year!
This year, as pre-ZN5 events, we will be conducting 4 special events.
The Details -
The RUZAT Session 1 training session will be held on Friday, September 20th from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
The RUZAT Session 2 training session will be held on Friday, October 4th from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
The RUZAT Session 3 training session will be held on Tuesday, October 8th from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
The RUZAT Training Competition will be held on Monday, October 14th from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
Each of the training sessions (Sessions 1-3) will all be different, covering different materials. During each of the training sessions certain weapon types will be covered as well as other useful information ranging from first-aid to food storage to disaster preparedness to how to assemble the proper "bug-out" bag. While the theme of these sessions will be zombie training, all of the information will have a practical application to real life scenarios. This point should be stressed to all interested participants.
Session 1 - Weapon systems: pistol and shotgun
Preparedness: emergency first-aid
Session 2 - Weapon systems: AR-style Rifle
Preparedness: food/water storage and disaster planning
Session 3 - Weapon system: Scoped Rifle and edged weapons (tactical tomahawk)
Preparedness: how to assemble a proper and effective "bug-out" bag
RUZAT Competition - this session will crown the Ultimate RUZAT Zombie Hunter. It will be a cumulative assessment of all the skills and knowledge acquired in Levels 1-3.
Each session will cost $30.00 and will include the use of all weapons and ammunition. Zombie Night 4 Commemorative Chip holders get a $3.00 discount off all sessions and the competition! No further discounts apply. Participants may use their own firearms as long as Range USA has that caliber available and the caliber is allowed. There is no age restriction, as long as a parent is with any minor child.
Anyone may enter the RUZAT Competition regardless of participation in any of the Training Sessions. However, the RUZAT Competition will focus on the knowledge and skills you acquire in Sessions 1-3, so your attendance to all Training Sessions will improve your chances to become the Ultimate Zombie Hunter!
Customers may pick and choose which Training Session they want to attend.
Entrance into the RUZAT Competition is FREE to those who attend ALL 3 Training Sessions!
If no Training Sessions were attended, the entrance fee into the RUZAT Competition is $50.00.
If only one Training Session was attended, the RUZAT Competition entrance fee is $40.00.
If only two Training Sessions were attended, the RUZAT Competition entrance fee is $30.00.
No further discounts apply.
After the last Training Session (10/8/2013) the appropriate "Level Patch" will be awarded to those who have earned it. There are instant discounts available to patch recipients as well as year-long benefits.
Level 1 patches (those who have attended one training session) - $1.00 OFF Zombie Night 5 Event Tickets, $2.00 OFF ZN5 Event T-shirt, 5% OFF in 1776 during the ZN5 Event.

Range USA is hosting a series of FREE workshops developed by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Crime Prevention. The presentations are led by Shelby County officers who have decades of experience and who have been trained to educate the public about how to avoid becoming a victim. These workshops are informative and interactive, giving you a rare opportunity to speak with seasoned law enforcement officers about how best to protect yourself and your family. "Member Only Hour" Announcement

ATTENTION RANGE USA MEMBERS: Announcing our "Member Only Hour".
Range USA Members (Recruit, Minute Man, Patriot, Founding Father and Lifetime Members) now have the opportunity to reserve lanes on Saturday mornings for one hour, 9am - 10am. (Over time, we may expand the Member Only Hour times) You can reserve your lane weeks in advance. If you need more than one lane, no problem, the member will receive their lane free and will pay regular rates for additional lanes (no discounts on lanes). When making reservations please include number of guests, type of target, and caliber of ammo (if needed). Breakfast will be available for you to purchase, just let us know how many will be eating, (breakfast will be served beginning at 8:30am), there will be FREE Coffee. When you arrive, simply check-in. You will know in advance which lane is yours. On your lane you'll find your target ready and ammo present. During this hour members will be able to fire .223 (our frangible ammo) and shotguns (no more waiting for Tuesday and Saturday evenings). To make your reservation please contact Dana Brown via her email: Dana.Brown@rangeusa.com. This is a "first to reserve" program, by order of email, i.e., if 15 emails are received for the 14 lanes available, the first 14 by date and time will be given the reservations. You will be able to go on a wait list; if a lane becomes available you will be contacted. Members can reserve lanes every other weekend; this will allow more members to have the opportunity to reserve a lane. Space is limited so don't wait!

Customer Service Representative
Range USA is currently accepting resumes and applications for Full-Time/Part-Time Sales/Customer Service positions for both, Memphis and Jackson locations. If you have previously submitted a resume/application and were not contacted, please re-submit your information. We are also hiring for management positions, but all new management must work their way up through the ranks. A fast-track program is available for those who qualify and are interested in a management position.
The job description includes, but is not limited to - customer service, cleaning, tracking and maintaining inventory, tracking sales, and basically providing outstanding service, with high quality products in a clean, comfortable environment. During slow periods, employees will be expected to perform light office work, marketing, and merchandising for Range USA. No experience is necessary. We will show you everything you will need to know.
Applicants need to be customer oriented, detail oriented, trustworthy, dependable, personable, and a quick learner with an obsession for cleanliness. Applicants also need to be able to follow directions to the letter and be able to work on their own as well as be able to work quickly in a very fast paced environment. The hours are flexible but you should be able to work at least three days a week. You do not need to be a firearms expert to work with us, you just need an outstanding attitude, a desire to learn, and the ability to always learn something new.
Apple & Android App Developer
Range USA is looking for someone to develop a few apps we have in mind. Must be have developed and released apps using both Apple and Android in the past. This is not a project for someone to learn on. This is not an employment opportunity, but more of a freelance arrangement. Mississippi Enhanced Permit
|
Chip Holland, Range USA Training Director, is certified for the Mississippi Enhanced Permit. And, Paul Brehm, Range USA Instructor, was recently certified to teach it, too.
The Mississippi gun permit does not require any training, because of this, there are very many restrictions on where a permit holder can legally carry.
Mississippi residents can apply for an Enhanced Permit once they have completed required training, OR if they have a current MS permit, they can take the training and get an endorsement on their current permit. Sign up for any permit class Chip Holland is teaching to receive this permit certificate for MS. Either way, the Enhanced Permit allows the permit holder to carry legally in far more places in Mississippi.
With the REGULAR GUN PERMIT it is A CRIME to carry a gun into:
Any police, sheriff, or Highway Patrol station or any prison or jail;
Any courthouse;
Any polling place;
Any public park;
Any school, college, university;
Any school, college, or professional sporting event;
Any establishment that serves liquor as their primary business (bar);
Any church or other place of worship.
With the ENHANCED GUN PERMIT, all of the restrictions ARE REMOVED, except: polling places,
Police, Sheriffs, or Highway Patrol stations, prisons, and jails; and courtrooms where court is in session.

Our 3rd Annual Wild Game Dinner will be held on Thursday, October 10th at 6:00pm. Chef Rick Ernst will be preparing a variety of wild game and delicious sides for this year's event. The event will be served Buffet style as a Chef's Table. Chef's Table is where Chef Rick will present the each dish explain how it was prepared, have copies of each recipe for each participant to take, and hold an open discussion of these and other wild game dishes during the dinner.

What: Sig Sauer Factory Armorer Certification

When: February 4 & 5 (Tuesday & Wednesday), 2014
Course Description:
This comprehensive multi-gun armorer certification course will prepare students to fully service the complete line of classic SIG SAUER pistols (P220, P226, P228, P229 and P239) while maintaining the factory warranty. This hands-on program focuses on the mechanical functioning, complete disassembly/reassembly, maintenance. troubleshooting, and field repair of these pistols. Instructors will guide students through each step while encouraging active participation to ensure maximum retention of the material covered. Law enforcement armorers will also gain the knowledge necessary to develop a maintenance and inspection program for their department. A three-year certification is awarded upon successful completion of written and practical exams.
Open to law enforcement, firearm dealers and civilians.

Lessons at Bedtime

As you can imagine, with five young children (all boys, to boot!), bedtime at our house can be a stressful time. You've heard the term, "it's like herding cats"? And, you've seen the guys who spin plates on tall, wobbly poles? Yeah, it's a lot like that. Well, the other night, we had finally got them all bathed, dressed in night-night clothes and tucked in bed. But, unfortunately, the kids weren't as tired as we were after the battle to get them all in bed. So, after a few admonitions being shouted up the stairs to their bedroom to quiet down and go to sleep, I had to actually make the trip up the stairs and into their room. By the way, all five of our boys share a bedroom upstairs, so this isn't an uncommon scenario. I explained to them that they had to go to sleep, that they had to get their rest and that they needed to get up early in the morning. And, as I was walking out the door, I stressed to them the importance of obeying their father. My departing words as I walked down the stairs were, "You have to obey your father!"
Then out of nowhere, in a manner that about dropped me to my knees, I felt the word "Hypocrite!" And, I knew at that moment that I had just been called out by my Heavenly Father! As I struggle with strongholds in my life, I know the thing to do is to simply obey my Father. But, my sinful flesh is so weak and I fail so many times. I know that without Him, without spending time in The Word, without spending time talking to God, I will never be what I am supposed to be.
Now, every time I get onto my boys for disobedience, I think of my own life and I look at ways I am not being obedient to my Father. It's very humbling and it keeps me in check. And, I need that as I try to raise five young men for Christ.
