Robert and Sherry joined League City United Methodist Church in 1977. Robert was a NASA Consultant for 32 years and recently retired from Futron after 12 years. He is a member of the North Georgia Conference and served as a pastor in Georgia. He is currently a "Located" Pastor, which means that he is a member of LCUMC and, as a fully ordained minister, may perform all ministerial services with the permission of our Senior Pastor.
Sherry worked as a medical secretary and office manager in Dr. Fisher's practice for 20 years. She has served God in the choir, as a trustee and on the education committee. She now serves on our Helping Hands ministry and as an Office Angel on Monday and Tuesday mornings. The Phillips have been active members of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class for 38 years. Robert has served on SPR, Admin Council, Finance, Sunday School teacher, and Food Truck Ministry. He is also preaching in our Magnify contemporary worship service at 11:00am each Sunday.
Robert served as our Youth Director several years ago and felt blessed to minister to the youth during a very difficult time when the MYF President died from a football injury.
Andrea Pritchard says that Sherry is the reason she is a member of LCUMC. She worked with Sherry and heard such good things about the church that she wanted to be part of it.
Favorite scriptures are in Romans 8. Especially Romans 8: 38. "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
