Article #9 in the Servant Leader Series at
League City United Methodist Church

Have you met Dr. Marion Gannon?

Marion joined League City  UMC in 2009.  She is a retired physician, working in Family Practice for over 40 years.    She loves being retired because, as she says, "It gives her so much time to serve."  Serving the underserved   -  the poor, the elderly and nursing home residents -- is very important to her.

She serves God as a Stephen Minister, works with Food Truck Ministry, on our annual Garage Sale, and serves communion.   She is part of the LCUMC prayer team and Loving Hearts committee.  She is also part of our Emmaus community and works more than 20 hours a week as an Artist Assistant for her son Curtis.

Marion has served on the mission committee,  with our Neighbor to Neighbor ministry, and has traveled to Sager Brown to do mission work.

Her favorite hymn is How Great Thou Art (her Dad's favorite).

Joshua 1: 9  (" Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."and Philippians 4: 6 & 7 (Don't worry about anything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.") are especially meaningful to her.
