Article #6 in the Servant Leader Series at
League City United Methodist Church

Have you met Jeanne & Dave?

David and Jeanne Whittle joined League City United Methodist Church in 1968.   David retired from NASA after 38 years of service, working on the Apollo program, Sky Lab and the Space Shuttle program.  He headed up the debris collection effort for the Columbia disaster investigation.  Jeanne is an R.N. and semi-retired.  She still assists Dr. Lipsky with surgeries a couple of times a month and has worked with him since 1987.

Jeanne presently serves as an Office Angel on Wednesday mornings, and as Usher coordinator, works with the Food Truck Ministry, Helping Hands ministry and is the Treasurer for the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class.  Jeanne led the fact-finding committee that founded Creative Corners Preschool, was the recruiter for Youth Directors, UM ARMY small group leader, and has served on the nominating committee. David serves God at LCUMC as a counter, IT support and in the Food Truck Ministry.  He has served as lay leader, on the Admin Council, Board of Trustees and as Youth Director.

A memorable part of LCUMC for Jeanne has been the baptisms of their children, their son's wedding and then their grandchildren's baptisms.   A favorite hymn is Amazing Grace and always touches her heart.    Favorite scriptures include 1st Cor. 13.
