Miami International Boat Show: February 11-15th 2016

Caribee Boat Sales is excited to invite you to the Miami International Boat Show, Thursday through Monday, February 11th to the 15th. This year the show has moved from it's traditional location at the Miami Beach Convention Center. It is now being held on Virginia Key at the Miami Marine Stadium Park. Please follow the link at the bottom of the article or by clicking the image above to find the numerous downtown area parking options, with complementary shuttles and water taxis to the show. Limited pre-paid parking on Virginia Key is available online. Please do not drive over Rickenbacker causeway and attempt to get to the show directly, unless you have already pre-purchased parking and have your pass. You cannot buy a parking pass on site at Virginia Key and will be turned back to park on the mainland if you do not have a pass. This exciting new space allows for boats in the water and in air conditioned custom structures on land with electronics and other exhibitors, all in one location.

Come see popular models including the Pathfinder 2300 HPS, Maverick's Mirage 17 HPX-V, the Grady White's 306 Canyon, and Pursuit's OS 355 Express. Pursuit will be introducing for the first time its all new S408 Center console as well as the all new DC 295 Dual Console. Both of these exciting new models have amazing innovative features you will need to see in person. Grady White will be displaying their new 271 Canyon Forward Seating Center Console as well.

All these boats are powered by Yamaha Four Stroke Outboards so do not miss your chance to get 2 years of extended warranty on a new 2.5-300HP or 3 years on 350HP when you purchase your new Yamaha by 3/31/16.

We will be on site and thrilled to assist you. Come see Billy in Grady White, Greg and Bill in Pursuit Boats, and Devin in Hewes/Maverick/Pathfinder.

We will have great manufacturer incentives on all of our in stock models and if we don't have the boat that fits your needs we can custom order the vessel of your dreams! Call 305-664-3431 for more information or to schedule an appointment at the show. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Boating Fact: How did we get Port and Starboard?

Many nautical terms have historical significance that's developed over centuries. For instance, "starboard" (the right side of the boat when you're facing the bow) is derived from the term "steerboard." This reference goes back to very early ships that were steered by a steering oar on the right-hand side of the ship - in the days before ships had rudders on their centerlines. When these ships came into a port, they needed to dock keeping the steering oar safe on the outside, away from the dock. So the "port" side referred to the left-hand side of the ship when facing forward, the side tied to the dock once the ship pulled into the dock. However, another term that you may have heard is "larboard," which was in common use until the middle of the 19th century; like port, it, too, referred to the left side of the ship as determined by the point of view of someone facing the bow.

Grady White's New 275 Freedom

Since its 2008 debut, the Freedom 275 dual console Grady-White has wowed families who enjoy all forms of water recreation with its versatility and supreme functional features. New for the 2016 model year, an expanded helm area and reconfigured deluxe seating has added an entire square foot to cockpit, plus a wider port console entry, and a new wet bar set up. The anchor locker now features a thru stem anchor windlass to clear the deck. There's room for six people seated on the port and starboard bow seating. Both the captain's and companion helm seating is now wider and more comfortable.

The aft cockpit space has been enlarged so there's more room for fishing, diving, entertaining, and more. Of course the boat features Grady's patented folding aft bench seat, as well as a transom door and swim ladder. Fisherman will also be glad to find rod storage in the locking head compartment, a live bait well, and transom self-bailing fish box, as well as additional optional hard top rod holders and outriggers.

Grady is leading the rapidly growing dual console field and the improved 2016 275 Freedom will show you why such a versatile family layout may well be your next boat.

Call 305-664-3431 and ask for Billy or Greg in Sales or come in today to see the 275 Freedom in person.
