President's Message

Seven weeks left in the school year?  Wow!  How can that be?! In Fremont style, there is still much fun to be had along the way.  In this month's flyer, you'll find a calendar full of opportunities to celebrate the winding down of the 2011-2012 school year with your Fremont community.

A few thank you's are in order after a busy April:

To Jill Brubaker and all room parents for coordinating a wonderful Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week!

To Nicole Littleworth, Margarita Lynch, and Kim Foley for a beautiful and delicious luncheon they provided for the staff

To Marky Morel, for all the work that went into growing her heirloom tomato plants.  The sale raised over $1000!

To Shavaughn Thom for her amazing ability to collect MANY books for the Used Book Sale.  The sale raised over $600!

To Rebeca Haga for coordinating a fun "Turn Off the TV Week."

To Eve Lunt and Marci and David Aimerito for hosting a fun, pajama-clad, trivia night during Turn-off-the-TV Week.

To Joslyn Semichy for planning our Frisco's Family Night

To Michelle Pryor for organizing another successful book fair.

Hope you have a wonderful month.  See you at the Carnival!

Principal's Message

For our grade 2-5 students, the nextMr. Hammond two weeks will give them an opportunity to show what they know.  The state standardized testing begins the week of May 1 for these students.  At each grade level, there are content standards or sets of skills and knowledge that students learn in each subject area.  The California Standards Test (CST) that the students will be taking which is part of the state's Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program is a tool to help measure students' progress in attaining these skills.  The teachers have been preparing their students for this assessment through the teaching of the content standards.  There are also ways which you can help.  Do make sure your child is well rested, has a nutritious breakfast, and arrives to school on time.  Assure your child that he or she is ready and to his or her best.

Looking ahead, we have special events coming up as we close out the school year.  You are cordially invited to our Open House which will be held on Thursday, May 24 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  What a great way to end the year by seeing what students have accomplished through their daily work and projects.  You are also welcome to visit classes to get a preview of some of the learning that your child will experience for the next school year.  A reminder also that May 28 is Memorial Day, a school holiday and a time to remember those who have served our country.
