We have lots going on at our Happy Hormone Cottages! Recently we opened the adjoining suite at our Mason office for Angela, our nurse practiti
oner, so now she has her own large office space for seeing our clients and also doing Thyroflex testing. She is thrilled! We are excited about our Thyroflex testing capabilities and being the only facility in central and southern Ohio to have the Thyroflex makes it even more special.

I am pleased and excited to announce the addition of our new nurse practitioner, Cathy Roland, coming to our Vandalia Happy Hormone Cottage! She will be working with us on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Monday, May 11. She will be a welcome addition for our clients living north of Dayton. This will also ease Angela's schedule at our Kettering office and open up a couple of extra days a month at our Mason office for nurse practitioner appointments. We are all excited about this flexibility in scheduling for our clients. It is exciting to see our growth!
BIG NEWS! For the past 5.5 years, our clients have asked us where the men in their lives can go to get the same functional medicine/holistic health treatment that they receive from the Happy Hormone Health facility. I am SO excited to announce that Jeff has finally decided to open his own functional medicine center for men in West Chester. Welcome to our new "Bio-Male Center! formula. After months of research, Jeff developed a proprietary formula that he customized to meet the specific adrenal needs of our clients. These two new adrenal products, adrenal support 1 and adrenal support 2 are being used by Angela (and soon by Cathy) to mimic a normal, healthy cortisol curve and will often be used together. The real value of these proprietary formulas is that they are more high powered and give us more flexibility in dosing. These products are now in at all Happy Hormone locations, as well as our new Bio-Male Center locations.
As you may know, this is heart health awareness time and I have to weigh in on the truth of this for me. All of the existing literature I read on heart health, breast cancer awareness, diabetes, Alzheimer's ALL have the same common sense tips as their prevention strategies: eat right, watch your weight, exercise, don't smoke. Yet people who do this are still getting these diseases. We are obviously missing something here! We at our HHC and now our new Bio-Male Center understand from the research that indeed there IS more......much more! We are ALL about prevention.

Women's Health Initiatives Foundation --to raise money for the research into the prevention of breast cancer. Not research for the cure, or mammograms to detect, but the real, actual prevention of the disease. And yes, it is directly related to refilling our hormone receptors as one piece of the puzzle. I hope this blog stimulates discussion and builds awareness for the reality and necessity of prevention. And by the way, screening for a disease has nothing to do with prevention....and everything to do with detection.
Finally, I've been pleased to have been asked to be included in two local news magazines, Single Source News and The Chronicle, to feature my foundation-The Women's Health Initiatives Foundation and its goal to raise $100,000 for breast cancer prevention research. If you Google breast cancer
foundations, or any cancer foundation, you will find that most monies go toward finding a cure or ways to screen for the disease. Very little money is invested in researching prevention. As mentioned above, the tips on "eat right, watch your weight, exercise and don't smoke," obviously aren't enough. So we are raising money for scientists we work with who are actually doing the research to develop viable ways we can prevent breast cancer. Being a goal-oriented action person, I find this exciting! Our fundraiser will be held on Saturday evening, October 3, this year. SAVE THE DATE!
