We have been busy at our Happy Hormone Cottages! In May, we opened our 5th Happy Hormone Cottage in Piqua, Ohio, to further serve our women living north of Dayton. We now have HHC facilities in Piqua, Vandalia, Kettering, Mason and Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Feel free to stop by to say hi!
At our Kettering office, we have added a large office space for our nurse practitioner, to meet the needs of our growing practice. We have moved Angela into this new office space, and we are using her old office space as an HHC Executive office for our Foundation (more on this below) and for Jeff to use for his Functional Medicine Consultations.
August 21st, we will celebrate the 5th anniversary of the opening of our Happy Hormone Cottage. It has been quite a journey from that first tiny stone cottage behind the Joli Boutique in the Heart of Centerville to our 5 HHC offices today. I had no idea what was in store for us! My intention was to talk with women, hear their story, validate their journey and offer them options to achieving a healthy life free from hormone imbalance symptoms and also free from the diseases that stem from the depletion of hormones our bodies experience after 35 as we age. The key for me was educating women and then empowering them to take charge of their journey. Because of my own struggles with hormone imbalance issues, and being an educator for 30 years, I found it an easy transition from the classroom to the cottage. What I know is that learning involves a change of behavior. So educating women on the needs of their bodies vs the limited options that are being offered to meet these needs really resonated with women. Offering natural options that allow our bodies to go the distance filled a niche in our community. Women who came to us began to feel better so they told their friends and inner circle, who told their friends and inner circle, and word spread. This is why today we have 5 cottages in 5 communities and we are growing. The most exciting part for me is that now women can go full circle with us from their initial free consultation, to getting their hormone levels tested (including cortisol and thyroid), to meeting with our nurse practitioner, who develops a customized natural hormone therapy strategy for each woman. We are so lucky to have this resource in our area. I get emails every week from women across the country who are struggling to find anyone to help them meet the hormonal needs of their bodies. We offer phone consultations, can ship testing kits to them, and can develop their hormone strategy, but they need to find a healthcare practitioner in their area to validate our strategy to meet the needs of each woman. Because what we do is not current standard of care with the big pharma agenda, it can be challenging. Ours is an organic, grassroots movement of women helping women and I can see great progress in our area in this arena of women's health over the past 5 years. I also have to add that women who can find no one to help them in their area, are flying in to see us and our nurse practitioner, from across the country.....Dallas, Tampa, Chattanooga, Mississippi.......I find this amazing!

I'm most excited about my Foundation--the Women's Health Initiatives
Foundation. Our mission is to fund research for a group of scientists we work with, who are developing a take home urine strip testing kit that helps determine breast cancer risk. If we can predict it, we can work to prevent it. I can think of no greater cause. For more information, or to donate, please go to

Now that we are our own medical facility, we urge our clients to see their ob gyn for their gyn needs, but come to our nurse practitioner, who is a hormone health expert, for their hormone needs.
