Our newsletter today is multi-purpose, so here we go:

Thanks also to Brendan's able-bodied assistant, Karen Ahern Clemenzi!!! You can access the site by going to:  www.loozianabassetrescue.org. We still have our Petfinder site but this new website will give you all of the information that you will ever want to know about LBR. Thanks again, Brendan and Karen!!!

(3)  A date has been set for LBR's Third Annual Hound-A-Roo!  Please mark your calendars for Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Veterans Park Shelter #2, 1801 Williams Boulevard, Kenner LA. The fun begins at 10 am and will last until 3 pm.  There will be event t-shirts for sale, along with great food, drinks, auction and raffle items, games, etc. Bring the leashed hounds and a couple of chairs and come "pass a good time" with the bayou basset crowd!  Online pre-orders for tickets, food and t-shirts will begin in mid-February so stay tuned!

It's Mardi Gras season in New Orleans, king cakes abound, and parades are right around the corner.  Laissez les bon temps rouler!

BABY DAISY
Baby Daisy
A true survivor.

Daisy, 4 months old, came to us on January 15.  She had a broken jaw and suffered pulmonary edema after receiving a severe shock when she bit into an electrical cord.

She has already had corrective jaw surgery at Metairie Small Animal Hospital and has an external fixator in place to hold her jaw in the correct position while it heals.
She no longer has to wear the soft muzzle and is now able
to eat soft, canned food.  Emilie Airhart is fostering little        Baby Daisy
Daisy during her recovery.

Please consider bidding on one or more of the auction items below to help raise money to cover the costs of Daisy's surgery, medical treatment, and hospital stay. You can also make a direct donation to her care via our website or by check  (see mailing address below). Daisy is one precious puppy and we are so glad we have her!

Thanks to all of you who have been concerned about her and thanks for all the thoughts and prayers and healing drool you have sent her way.
