Dr. Jackie Rodriguez has joined the School of Education as Assistant Professor of Special Education. She will be teaching undergraduate and graduate coursework in Special Education including Characteristics of Exceptional Student Populations and Differentiating and Managing in Diverse Classrooms Secondary Practicum.

Professor James Stronge serves as guest editor

The latest special issue of the journal, Education Assessment, Evaluation and Accountability, focuses on teacher effectiveness and teacher evaluation from an international perspective. Dr. James Stronge served as the Editor of this special issue, and Dr. Leslie Grant served as a Co-editor. 

Camp Launch, a two-week residential program offered by the Center for Gifted Education, is designed to give middle school students from all socioeconomic levels opportunities to explore a number of academic areas.
Celebrate Homecoming with the SOE   
Join us at the SOE Homecoming Tailgate October 26. The Sunken Garden is THE place to be before the Tribe takes on the JMU Dukes. Feast on tailgate foods and enjoy cold beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Look for the SOE tent. There is a place for everyone at this tailgate with music, a children's carnival with prizes, and you can take a picture with the Griffin!
