School leaps in U.S. News and World Report's graduate schools rankings
The William & Mary School of Education surged 11 spots to 32nd in this year's U.S. News and World Report rankings. This distinction is even more pronounced since it is one of the smallest in the top 100 schools of education.

McLaughlin honored by AACTE
Virginia McLaughlin, dean of the W&M School of Education, received the Edward C. Pomeroy Award from the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). This award fittingly celebrates her outstanding leadership, her exceptional professional career, her continuing dedication to her life's work as a teacher, mentor, and scholar, and the promise that her work holds for the future of her profession.

Six from W&M present at the Conference on Higher Education Pedagogy
William & Mary's School of Education was well represented at the Conference on Higher Education Pedagogy (CHEP) 2013 at Virginia Tech. Professors Pam Eddy and Jim Barber presented at the conference as well as three students and one alumnus.

Professor Bruce Bracken publishes his first novel
Professor Bruce Bracken has published his first novel, The Hollidaysburg Christmas Miracle, a tale that combines the original Christmas story with Scrooge. Professor Bracken currently has two additional novels, Achilles and Invisible ready for publication.
