Professor Leslie Grant joins Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership faculty  

Dr. Leslie Grant will combine her love of teaching and research as a newly hired assistant professor in Instructional Leadership.  She will teach K-12 General Administration for the masters, doctoral and Executive Ed.D. Programs.

Korean students and teachers visit
The Center for Gifted Education hosted 119 gifted high school students and eight teachers from Korea's Busan Science High School, a residential high school for gifted students. Students participated in Advanced Placement biology, mathematics, genetics, and chemistry classes, while eight teachers attended professional development sessions on creativity, Problem-Based Learning, and the use of technology in the classroom.
James Stronge Professor James Stronge recognized by CREATE

James Stronge, Heritage Professor in the EPPL Program, has been recognized by CREATE with the Millman Scholar Award recognizing his "valuable research associated with the qualities of effective teachers and principals as well as the contribution on teacher and principal evaluation systems."

Journal publications by EPPL Higher Education doctoral students

Carla Costello and Sharon Stone, doctoral students in the EPPL higher education program, have had journal articles published and have presented their papers at conferences. Together they examined support strategies surrounding learning disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Jenny Gonzalez '10, M.Ed. '11 is seen in a video as an example of co-teaching as a method of closing the achievement gap in the Fairfax County Schools.
