Herbal Spotlight

Gui Zhi Tang

(Cinnamon Twig Decoction)

Herbal Dispensary

If you attended PIHMA's Fall Open  House then you had a chance to taste an herbal decoction made of raw herbs straight from our Herbal Dispensary. We chose Ghi Zhi Tang because of its warming characteristics and ability to harmonize the body's qi (internal energy).  This decoction is made of Gui Zhi (cinnamon twig), Bai Shao (peony root), Zhi Gan Cao (prepared licorice root), Sheng Jiang (raw ginger), and Da Zao, bo (jujube fruit, cut open) and is often used at the first signs of the common cold (headache, stiff muscles, nasal congestion, fever and chills).

To see if Gui Zhi Tang is the right formula for you, call PIHMA's clinic today at (602) 274-1885 for an herbal consultation. Because everyone is different herbal products are sold only after consultation with an herbal intern.
