Gina will be bringing a slice of

authentic Italy to Louisville this summer, opening At the Italian Table in late July and offering hands on cooking classes and small dinners, along with retail sales. Decorated with Italian antiques brought back from her years in Italy, At the Italian Table will serve dinners at a communal table for 10, available by reservation only. The menu will feature local and seasonal ingredients, as well as many specialty food items brought from Italy.

 

Dinners will be offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Hands on cooking classes will be scheduled for Tuesday evening and Saturday mornings. Friend us on Facebook!

Insalate per l'estate - Summer salads

Whether you're celebrating the Palio of Siena or American Independence Day, early July means it's  summer, it's hot and cooking over a hot stove is the last thing you want to do. In Italy, where air  conditioning is rarely used, there are many summer dishes that are light salads filled with seasonal summer vegetables and herbs.  Basil, parsley and tarragon are wonderful summer herbs that brighten up fresh salads and additions like pasta, farro, chicken or tuna turn a salad into a complete light meal. A painting group had to cancel their reservation for this villa that sleeps 12  (6 bedrooms/6 bathrooms) just 5 minutes from Pienza in southern Tuscany. It is a perfect spot to relax and visit the area towns - Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Siena and a wonderful time of the year. Weekly price is 3900 euros but discounted to only 3400 euros.
