Happy Spring Break!

This month's Chamber newsletter features our 3rd AdviCoach Session that will be held on April 19th and is titled "Build Your Business' Value"; we will also be hosting the ONCE Breakfast  on April 20th. Hope to see you there!

As a reminder, the Chamber is currently accepting nominations for the Grafton Chamber's "Outstanding Business/Business person of the Year" award as well as the  "Outstanding Community Organization" award. Each year we recognize an extraordinary business and/or business person along with a Community Organization that make a difference in our community. Nomination information is also included below. Please be sure to mark your calendar and plan to attend our Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner on May 18th at the Bog, where our winners will be honored.

Thank you for being a valued member of the Grafton Area Chamber.  Please know we're here to serve you.  Go Brewers!

  Just a few reminders about
Chamber Gift Checks

Since 2008, we have issued 3,266 gift checks totally just over $126,000.  We believe that our Gift Check Program is a great value add for our members, and, in general, we receive a lot of positive feedback from the people who purchase them.  Recently, however, we have had some complaints regarding the acceptance of gift checks by Chamber Member Businesses.

Chamber Gift Checks should be treated just like cash.
If a customer presents a Gift Check for a purchase of goods or services, t
hey should receive cash back to make up the difference between the cost of the item and the value of the Gift Check.

EXAMPLE:  If I purchase an item that costs $18.23 and I give you a Chamber Gift Check to pay for the item, I should receive $1.77 back in cash.

When Gift Checks are purchased, we include a brochure which includes all of our current Chamber Member Businesses, so that the recipient knows where he/she can redeem it.
If you do not want to accept Chamber Gift Checks, please contact our office so that we can remove your company from our brochure.

When you receive a Gift Check from a customer, you can deposit it just as you would any other check.  All checks are made payable to "Chamber Member Business", so as long as you are a member, you can deposit these checks.

You will  be receiving more information about gift checks in a dedicated email next week, but please, feel free to contact the Chamber Office at
262-377-1650 if you have any questions.
