Message from your Chamber President

Rick Novotny
Cornerstone Community Bank
In case you haven't noticed, Fall has officially arrived! The chilly weather held out long enough however for our 21st Annual Chamber Golf Outing at Edgewater Golf Club. Thank you to our many hole and event sponsors, as well as to the generous businesses that donated prizes. 76 golfers of all different skill levels (even some 1st time golfers!) sold out this year's event and enjoyed the beautiful weather while networking with fellow Chamber members. A special thank you to John Wirth, Nate Krueger, Kris Barger, Paul Scofield, Kim Meisinger and Renee Samson for organizing this "fun for all" outing!

Up Next: Grafton's Annual Pumpkin Fest is coming up on Oct 17th. Don't miss this free, family fun event in the Paramount Plaza!

We are all very blessed to be part of the great Grafton community. It's both, the local businesses and the people that makes our community a wonderful place to work, play, and raise our families. For this very reason, we recognize an individual and group that help make Grafton what it is. It's time to sit back and think of a person/group who has made a difference in our community and nominate them for the "Outstanding Citizen" and "Outstanding Community Group" of 2015. It is important to reflect on and recognize those hard working individuals and groups who have made and continue to make an impact on our great community. So please send your nominations in to the Chamber office by October 16th. Both awards will be presented at our annual Community Tree Lighting event on November 22nd.

There is still time to sign to participate in the 36th Annual Grafton Christmas Parade themed "Celebrate the Season" and will be held on November 28th at 11:00am. We are in need of floats, volunteers and sponsors....Please contact the Chamber office for more information!

Thank you so much for your support of our Chamber. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events, don't forget your jacket!

The Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce,
 in cooperation with Grafton
High School,
is seeking businesses to participate in our
4th Annual Career Expo.

The event is set for October 21st
from 9:00 am to 11:00 am
in the Grafton High School Gym.
(Participating Businesses arrive at 8:00
for set up and continental breakfast.)

This is not intended to be a job fair, rather, an introduction to your business.  This is a career fair where experts in the field show and tell about their career.  Demonstrating skills and telling high school students about your career broadens their horizons. Having the opportunity to speak  with you greatly impacts the students' understanding of the career opportunities available to them and helps them design an educational path to meet job requirements.

We would like to encourage all participants to bring along handouts, flyers, and/or giveaways for the students, as well as an example of some of the tools and/or technologies used in that career field to demonstrate to the students. We hope to make this an interactive, hands-on event for the students. We plan to have all GHS students (approximately 700) participate in this event, and would like to have at least 50 participating businesses.

Each business will have a 10 x 10 space, and we will provide a table and electricity (if necessary).  We ask that each participating business pay a $10.00 registration fee.  We will use the money collected to purchase door prizes for the students.

Please RSVP BY OCTOBER 13.

Contact the Chamber office if you have any questions or for more information.  262-377-1650  pam@grafton-wi.org

RSVP to Katie at 262-238-7731 or email Katie at kculotta@co.ozaukee.wi.us on or before Oct 29th.
