Can you believe that summer is nearing its end and school is set to begin? We have had an incredibly busy summer full of high quality, well attended events including: the Giro d' Grafton, Grillin' in Grafton and our annual Independence Day Parade and fireworks, the Farmers' Market, GALA Concert Series and Ladies Night Out ...what a great community that we can call our home! These events would not be possible without all of our dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors, and hard-working Chamber staff; thank you for a very memorable summer!
Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Grafton High School for a meeting on Project Lead the Way which showcased the current biomedical curriculum and included a tour of the biomedical classroom, demonstrations by current GHS students, and a discussion regarding areas in need of improvement and opportunities for you and your company to get involved. The tour was extremely eye-opening , especially as it relates to what these students are learning and the equipment that they are using. Our students are now afforded more options and opportunities for developing a career path suited to their interests and skills. Much like the Manufacturers' Alliance, this group is looking to enhance the programs currently offered in our High School (specifically Biomedical programs). In order to make this happen, they are in need of donations, both equipment as well as monetary to better their equipment and offerings. Please reach out to Pam King if you have any questions or would like to make a donation!
Please join us on September 24, 2015 for the annual Grafton Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing. All skill levels are welcome to enjoy the afternoon at Edgewater Golf Club. I hope to see you there!
