Message from your Chamber President

Sharon McKelvey
Investment Center of Grafton

As we can see, the calendar finally says fall, as do the leaves on the trees, so why not take time to enjoy the great outdoors.  We could not have asked for a better day for our 20th Annual Chamber Golf Outing at Edgewater Golf Club.  Thank you to our many hole and event sponsors, and to the generous businesses that donated prizes.  56 golfers got the chance to take in the beautiful day while networking with fellow Chamber members.  It was a great day of fun, camaraderie, and even a little golf! Grafton's Annual Pumpkin Fest is coming up on Oct 10th and 11th.   Don't miss the family fun in the Paramount Plaza on Friday night, and in Veterans Park on Saturday.  Hopefully you will have many more opportunities to soak up some sunshine while enjoying our fabulous parks and recreational areas.

Grafton's vibrant business climate along with the sense of commitment and caring of our community makes this a truly wonderful place to live and work.  That is why we make a point every year to recognize an individual and group that help make Grafton what it is.  We welcome nominees for the "Outstanding Citizen" and "Outstanding Community Group" of 2014 to be recognized at our annual Community Tree Lighting event on November 23.  It is important to  to think about and recognize those hard working individuals and groups who have made and continue to make an impact on our great community.  So please send your nominations in to the Chamber office by October 15th.

This year, we celebrate the 35th year of the Grafton Christmas Parade.  Our "All That Glitters" parade, presented by Columbia St. Mary's will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 11:00 am.  There is still time sign up to participate...Build a Float, Volunteer, Sponsor a Special Unit!  Contact the Chamber for more details.

As always,  we appreciate your support of our Chamber and our community.  The quality of life in Grafton is enhanced by the strength of our local businesses!
