Which one will produce the best results for your clients? Explore your options and obtain an in depth understanding of the benefits of both and how to use them in the same services. In this class the student will review the chemistry and science behind these products and how lightning effects the hair structure. Comparing and breaking down the properties of these coloring tools will set you up for success when formulating for your clients when they are going lighter.
Celebrity Haircoloring
 Dwayne Ross, ABCH
Sunday: 9:30 am, 2:00 pm

Ever wonder what formulas and techniques a celebrity haircolorist uses?
Dwayne Ross will share with you his personal formulas and techniques he uses on his celebrity clients such as Jessica Simpson, Jessica Alba, Ashlee Simpson, Rod Stewart, Lara Flynn Boyle, Kathy Ireland and Nancy O'Dell to name a few.
He works on television shows, award shows (Oscars, Emmy Awards) and editorial photo shoots. "Haircoloring is an art that should be grounded in science," says Dwayne.
His class will motivate and help you become more creative and successful as a haircolorist. Come and enjoy his class as he shares with you how he went from sleeping in his car to becoming one of Beverly Hills most successful haircolorists.

The deposit only haircolor comparison is underway. We will put the deposit only haircolor through the same rigors as we did the permanent haircolors 5 years ago. The results will be on display at the Energizing Summit. Each haircolor will be deposited on three Yak hair swatches. (Yak  colors very much like gray hair.) Information about the colors will be compared, such as price, price per ounce, pH raw color, pH mixed color. After all the swatches are colored, one of the swatches will be shampooed 5 times and another left out in the sun for 10 days to determine which of the colors are most durable. The colors we have gathered thus far are as follows: Beth Minardi, Brocado, Clairol, Chromastics, Campagina De Colore, Framesi, Goldwell, I.luminate, Joico, Kenra, Keune, L'Oreal, Matrix, Paul Mitchell, Redken, Rusk, Sally, Scruples, Strands, TIGI, Wella CC, Wella CT, Zotos. Some of the manufacturers will have two colors in the mix
If you have a color you want to include in the comparison, send it to the ABCH office.
