Chicago ABCH Exam

The Chicago exam produced 14 new ABCH Certified Haircolorists. The two women who scored the highest in the Performance Examination are relatively new in the field of haircoloring.   Krystina Munoz, and Megan Gill worked especially hard to procure the highest scores in the performance exam. It  was a joy watching them place foils in their mannequin. Their work was smooth and effortless.  Megan has already been contacted by a haircolor manufacturer to be an educator for them.
I am bewildered why there are not more haircolorists taking the exam in order to become an American Board Certified Haircolorist. Could it be they do not need the additional information provided by the A.B.C.H.?  Everyone stresses about taking the examination so they continue to postpone it hoping for that special epiphany that gets them to sign up, but it may never happen. If you want a better industry it starts with you. People who took and passed the examination are not better than most of you.  The only difference is that they spent the time to educate themselves and perfect both skills and knowledge. Certification brings confidence, which can lead to higher earnings.
Follow the examples set by these successful new ABCH certified colorist and go for it!
Congratulations to our newest ABCH's!

The Art of The Blow Dry™                                                     Cantrell Mitchell

Sunday: 9:30 am and 2:00 pm

Monday: 11:00 am and 3:30 pm

While just about anyone reading this has done thousands upon thousands of blow dries, what promise is held for you in this class?

Blow drying is singly the most debilitating aspect of hairdressing, for
many the most boring and for everyone, the last memory a guest
has before they leave your salon and how they finally rate their satisfaction.
In this class, you will be inspired with our processes of developing a new vision and approach to your finish. Understanding the positive effect a proper blow dry can have on color treated hair will make a huge difference in client satisfaction, retention and referrals. The cuticle of the hair is always abraded from haircolor and to a much greater degree from bleaching, especially if you use a natural bristle brush. Some may choose to continue blow drying hair to a greater damage but during the Energizing Summit, you can learn how to bring back the luster and increase your pride in your finishing with these new insights presented in the "Art of the Blow Dry."

BACKLASH FROM HEAD TO HEAD COMPARISON

We evaluate hair care products to determine which is best. For the very first time we went head to head with a product comparison and drew the conclusion on which one we thought was best, something we have never done in the past.
We are now planning to do a comparison on who has the best Deposit Only Haircolor.
This will be a comparison where YOU will determine which one you feel is the best.
Because of the many letters received from users and nonusers of the recent head to head comparison, we will not be doing that again.
We will let you decide based on our results.

Write to me... I love getting email and talking to other stylists about haircolor!
