MCMS Members - Tell us what you think!

How has your experience been with the medical licensing process?

Last fall, the State Ombudsman's office released a report on specific state laws that were not followed during the Arizona Medical Board's licensing process for the period dating back to mid 2011. In the report, the Ombudsman pointed to numerous shortcuts that had been implemented without legislative approval, and called for the Board to adopt a revised process for issuing licenses in accordance with the law. Since the release of that report, the Board has worked diligently with the Auditor General's office to revise the process so that it conforms to law.

However, it appears that new applications for medical licenses have been delayed while the process is being documented.

Here at the Medical Society, we are concerned about how this impacts our physician community. Does it put an undue burden on new physicians and delay their license unnecessarily? Does it impact practice groups' abilities to recruit physicians from out of state?

We want to know what your experience has been in recent years. Please take the short, 5 minute survey below.

Sincerely,

Jay Conyers, PhD
Executive Director
