Just Breathe

With each focused breath the twist grew stronger. I was peripherally aware of the sweat pouring off my face and down my chest; the increasing pressure in my abdomen; the torque on my spine, and the burn in my hamstrings. But I was totally aware of my breath. As my bowel was being squeezed up toward my chest, compressing my diaphragm, it was getting harder and harder to breathe. I've seen many a ruptured spleen. But in a moment of broken concentration, I began to wonder, seriously, if a liver could pop as well. I summoned the discipline to focus back on my breath, and continued to count.

The College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University, Glendale, AZ is hiring a Director for the Physician Assistant Program.
The candidate may be a DO, MD or PA. The PA must hold a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (or equivalent) and have current NCCPA certification.
The DO or MD must have a current AZ license and certification by an ABMS or AOA approved specialty board.
The candidate must have a minimum of three years as a faculty person in health sciences education, hold rank of Associate Professor or higher, and have a strong record of teaching and scholarship. Demonstrated experience in administration and the
accreditation process is desirable.
