CSI: Flint Memorial Library

What's happening to the LEGOs in the Children's Room?! Are pieces suddenly disappearing? How can we solve this mystery?!

Stop by the Children's Room and take a look at the LEGO creations. Then help us solve this mystery on Nov. 10 using science and math! Put your skills to the test!

Come learn about the forensic scientists who use science and math to help police detectives solve mysteries.

Drop in to the library on November 10th between 5-8 p.m. and stop in at the first floor reading room to check out a re-creation of the scene. Then come downstairs to the activity room to the Forensic Laboratory and work with our Science Experts to try some scientific tests, including fingerprint & hair analysis.

Help us solve the mystery!

Any children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.

This event is organized by Science Educator Mary Hatton and is presented in conjunction with the North Reading High School Science Club. CSI: Flint Memorial Library is sponsored by Teradyne and Friends of the Flint Memorial Library.

Just for Teens

Our Teen Room has several new clubs just for middle and high school students.

Teen Book Club

We wanted to make sure you were all settled into school and your new routines. Now that you are, we're ready for our first Teen Book Club session.

We'll meet Thursday, Oct. 29 at 3:30 p.m. to discuss Gail Carriger's steampunk favorite Etiquette & Espionage.

A Victorian-era finishing school is not all that it seems, as the students are taught how to be spies and some lessons are taught by a vampire and a werewolf.

As you can see, the author approves of our book club choice:

Doctor Who Club

Several Doctor Who books are available at the library in the Teen Room next to our life-sized TARDIS.

Our Doctor Who Club meets on the first Tuesday of the month. Our next meeting is Nov. 3 at 3:30 p.m.

Teen Lego Club
This all new Lego Club is for older kids only - grades 5, 6, 7 and 8. There's no registration, just walk over after school! Build in teams or individually, all you need is yourself. We provide the Legos. No younger siblings, please.

Our Teen Lego Club will meet on first Thursday of the month. The next session is Nov. 5 at 3:30 p.m.

Teen Coloring Club
De-stress after school and sports. Take a break from homework and studying with our new Teen Coloring Club. Coloring for teens is taking the world by storm and we're happy to give teens a place to meet, color and relax!
