Lowell Spinners Season Starts

Treat yourself to a family baseball outing at half the price!

The Friends of the Library is sponsoring a new Lowell Spinners pass that will allow patrons to purchase half-price tickets at all home games. There is one pass per game, so book early!

To reserve tickets, sign up on TixKeeper then stop by the library to pick up your coupon.
The coupon can be redeemed for one game at the Spinners box office on game day (or in advance) and allows you to buy up to six half-price tickets.

Summer Reading Off To Huge Start!

Our Every Hero Has a Story summer reading program is off to a huge start, after hundreds of school-aged children registered for the program during our ice cream party Monday, June 22. As of today, we have 318 children signed up for the program!

Our hardworking scoopers served up four giant tubs of Richardson's ice cream to children and parents, while our awesome sponsors - the Friends of the Flint Memorial Library - bankrolled our efforts and sold books.

Every Hero indeed Has a Story, and the hero of this story is teamwork!

See the PHOTO GALLERY here!

To register for summer reading, click here - readsinma.org/flint - or visit us in the Children's Room on the fourth floor. We'll also have more information about the program as the summer goes along on our website.

Events for the program are already listed on our calendar here.

15 in '15 Patron Recommendation

Not sure what to read next? Here's a patron recommendation!

Carsick by John Waters
Funny, filthy descriptions by the controversial filmmaker of three different trips hitchhiking from Baltimore to San Francisco: the imaginary best rides, the imaginary worst rides, and what actually happened.

Escape the Ordinary

This year's theme of adult summer reading is "Escape the Ordinary," an extension of the children's "Every Hero Has a Story" theme.

To celebrate and encourage adult use of the library, we offer a weekly raffle. The first week's prize is a bag of books. Enter at the main circulation desk on the first floor.

Take time to enjoy the library all summer long!
