Green Drinks is on a roll, for wine, that is
Next month we'll make our second visit to our most local winery, Great Frogs, right here in Annapolis.
As many of you know, our amazing Annapolis Green House Stave Walls were donated by and made from Great Frogs Wine Barrels!
Mark your calendars for July 19 as we return for a very special night at Great Frogs' beautiful tasting barn on Harness Creek Road, catered by La Prima Food Group and sponsored by Blades of Green. We'll have more details for you soon. Save the date!

Learn about the Capt. John Smith National Water Trail in our Backyard & Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service... and get to know a new place in town too!

Tuesday, June 28
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
1906 Towne Centre Boulevard
(Annapolis Towne Centre in Parole)
Theme
Celebrating the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National
Historic Trail and the Centennial of the National Park Service
Event Sponsor
Enter at the ground level tasting room of Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant (next door to Eastern Mountain Sports and across the street from Target), and you'll get an immediate buzz from the wine and food concept of this new addition to the scene in our town. Tastings of the extensive offerings of house wines will be available and you can browse the very cool gift shop before making your way upstairs to Green Drinks.
We'll be in the second floor bar and spilling out onto the roomy open-air terrace. If it sprinkles, no problem, there's cover outside too.
We're celebrating "America's Best Idea," as Ken Burns said -- the National Parks on their centennial -- by focusing on the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail, right in our backyard. Come learn about our wonderful country and nearby public lands.
We are suggesting an admission donation of $10 for this Green Drinks, to help us bring you fun and informative evenings such as this and to further our promotion of sustainability in the Greater Annapolis area.
About Our Event Sponsor
The National Park Service is the lead federal agency in administering the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail (the nation's first water trail), and our event sponsor, the Chesapeake Conservancy, is its principal partner for trail development. The National Park Service is also a federal partner in the watershed-wide Chesapeake Bay Program. All three connect people with the special places and stories of the Chesapeake, help preserve those special places and stories, and foster stewardship of the Chesapeake.
Speakers from the Chesapeake Conservancy will tell us about the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail and how to access and enjoy it. We will also have information about other National Park treasures nearby and around the country.
One of Cooper's Hawk's unique Green initiatives is its recycling/reuse of wine bottles. Using its unique bottle washing machine, they have kept 250 tons of glass out of the landfill. Read more on our website.
At Green Drinks, there will be a cash bar and complimentary appetizers and some surprises provided by Cooper's Hawk. Do plan to stay for dinner. The food is outstanding.
Special Guest: "Clawdia," Queen of the 71st Annual Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast to be held August 5 -- An Annapolis Green Responsible Events & Festivals (Green REF) event, composting and recycling everything, including crab shells!
Green Drinks, organized by Annapolis Green, strives to bring the environmental message to new audiences so everyone is invited to attend, make connections with like-minded people, and learn something new. No RSVP is needed. Parking is free (and a lot of is under cover) at Towne Centre.
Bring your name tag if you have one. And as always, bring any natural (not plastic) corks you'd like us to recycle for you, and literature about your upcoming events.
See you tomorrow!
