Sept. 12 & 13
We'll be under the tent, so don't let the threat of rain keep you away!

Join us at the historic Charles Carroll House -- home of a signer of the Declaration of Independence -- as we explore and enjoy Annapolis' past while looking to the future. We will showcase the future in the form of the students in St. Mary's environmental programs.

History is important to our community, exemplified by the Charles Carroll House, a magnificent example of the cultural heritage we are so lucky to have in Annapolis.

City of Annapolis Historic Preservation head Lisa Craig will tell us more about the ongoing cultural landscape study and what the city is doing to plan for threats of all kinds, from earthquakes to floods.

St. Mary's Schools We will hear about St. Mary's High School's Environmental Studies Program that is creating a new generation of stewards of our environment. Read more about the school's program.

Former state senator Gerald Winegrad will lead small group tours of the environmental features of the school grounds and parking lot -- many of which were installed with the assistance of the Spa Creek Conservancy. And the Conservancy will be represented by President Amy Clement, who can answer questions about past and future projects to improve the health of the creek.

Thank you to the Maryland Seafood Festival for sponsoring our event ... and speak of history, the Festival is on it's 48th year!  We'll be raffling off tickets for admission... Just $5 for a chance to win two tickets. The festival will be held this weekend, Sept. 12 & 13 at Sandy Point State Park.

palate pleasersGreen Drinks Appetizers will be provided by Palate Pleasers, celebrating its 25th year in the same Eastport location!

Beverages will be provided by Pinkey's West Street Liquors. Look for a lively selection of wines and beers for a small donation. And of course, soft drinks will be available too.

As you know it always takes a community effort... we also thank the Annapolis Marriott for "dressing us up" and lending us table cloths (have you checked out Pussers updated dock bar?).

Parking: Please note that parking will be on the street or in the Hillsman garage nearby. The St. Mary's parking lot will NOT be available to Green Drinkers because our event coincides with Back to School Night at the school.  Carpool, Walk, Bike or even come by water (Shipwright Street)

Volunteers: We can always use extra hands with a special event and it's a great way to meet everybody! Set ups and greeting to bartending and break down all need volunteers. Thanks for letting us know if you can help! Just send us an email.

See you tonight!

National Drive Electric Week Event in Annapolis
 EV Showcase on City Dock
Sunday, September 13
noon to 4 p.m.

Electric cars are not just the stuff of George Jetson. They are here today. They are affordable. They are stylish. They don't pollute the air. And they are a joy to drive.

Learn more at the Annapolis EV showcase on City Dock on Sunday. Talk with dealer reps and OWNERS to get the real deal on what it's like to drive emission-free.

We have 20 cars signed up so far and we'll have information on charging stations provided by SemaConnect, a local company that manufactures Level 2 chargers -- the type you see in garages.

Solar City will be on hand with information about home solar installations (that's the ultimate -- powering your EV with the sun!).

And this being Annapolis, the electric SJKoch Duffy Boats folks will join us and offer rides on Spa Creek as well as a raffle for a two-hour rental!

Do plan to join us on Sunday and see if that "EV Smile" is in your future.

Responsible Events & Festivals, our festival greening program (The Green REF), is getting to be well-known and prized by planners of regattas, foot races, rowing races, and more, as they ask us to help Green their events. Our program is based on sponsorship.

Homestead Gardens donated a moveable "home" for our eco-stations!
We look for companies - in any sort of business - that would like to Make the Right Call and connect their brands to our recycling and composting educational efforts.
