Dates, dates, dates....
First, we want to tell you that we had to postpone our presentation on plastics in the ocean and the bay that had been scheduled for tomorrow evening. It will be held in October. Read more below.
Also, read below for information about our upcoming Responsible Events and Festivals (Green REF) events. We have fabulous sponsorship opportunities available and we need volunteers who want to give of their time to help us make a difference in our community.

Save the Date!

Thursday, Sept. 10
Charles Carroll House & Gardens
107 Duke of Gloucester, Annapolis
We're looking forward to returning to the Charles Carroll House, a magnificent example of the cultural heritage we are so lucky to have in Annapolis. It was home three generations and a Founding Father!
We will have information about Annapolis' cultural heritage, the work the Spa Creek Conservancy has done with St. Mary's School to treat stormwater runoff, exciting information about the work of St. Mary's School's environmental efforts and more.
Stay tuned for details and save the date!

What's in the Water: The Growing Threat of Plastic in the Ocean and the Bay - NEW DATE
Tuesday, October 13
7 p.m.
Annapolis Maritime Museum
We had to postpone our presentation (originally scheduled for August 18) so we could get a strong panel of speakers aboard to discuss the growing threat of plastic in the ocean and in the Bay. The extent of this material -- which NEVER goes away -- is serious as begins to enter the food chain.
Save the date for this eye-opening presentation. Details to come.

70th Annual Rotary Crab Feast
From the Bay to the Earth
A Great Success
We worked with the Annapolis Rotary to make the iconic 70th Annual Crab Feast a "Bay Responsible," Zero-Waste event through our Responsible Events & Festivals Program (The Green REF... Make the Right Call).
Rotarians worked hard to collect 26,000 pounds of compostables and 8580 pounds of recycling.
We are so proud to work the Annapolis Rotary. The entire organization was totally behind this effort. And so were the 2500 feasters! Everyone did a great job putting waste where it belonged and many thanked us for the program. We'd like to give a special thanks to 2015 Crab Feast Chief Jim Campbell and 2016 Crab Feast Chief Sue Weber and Rotary logistics chief Tom Phelps.
And, Veteran Compost President Justen Garrity and his staff, Montae and Rob, worked above and beyond to make this a success.
We'd also like to extend a big thank you to our crab feast Green Team volunteers:
- Jessica Brown & daughter Lila
- Tom Cagle
- Rita Calvert
- Justin Coleman
- Annapolis Green Board Member Jim Ferguson
- Sonja Holleman
- Dorian Modly
- Jean Russo
- Elena Zenke
