Rain or shine, Green Drinks will highlight how all aspects of our community come together in stewardship and beautification to create a vibrant and Green town. And we'll have fun doing so!

Our venue will be different this time because we have three co-hosts: The primary host is Gallery 3976, with participation from the Oyster Recovery Partnership, and Capital Teas in the Annapolis Design District. Hence, our theme: Art, Oysters & Tea!

Artists, non-profits, commercial companies, and citizens, we all have a role to play in taking care of our land and waterways.

The Design District is a new area for us -- and one that is home to many creative businesses and non-profits including our hosts. Check it our online and in person at Green Drinks!

spa creek conservancy Just off Chinquapin Round Road, the Design District is at the headwaters of Spa Creek and we will have information from the Spa Creek Conservancy about how runoff from roads and parking lots affects the health of the creek.

Flow of the Evening

We'll be in a small space, so here are some things you'll want to know. Please enter at Gallery 3976, 1818 Margaret Avenue. We are asking Green Drinkers for a donation of $10 admission to help us make the evening extra special.

Upon passing "go" please by your wine tickets -- we are requesting a donation of $5/glass. Beer will be free, thanks to Flying Dog Brewery. The drinks will be toward the back of the Gallery.

There will be live music! Local award-winning singer-songwriter-guitarist Dirk Schwenk will get us in a summertime mood with his cool tunes. Check him out online! Dirk plays music in the evening but his day job is as an attorney specializing in real estate, waterfront, planning and zoning, and maritime law. Check out Bay Law, LLC.

As you stroll through Gallery 3976, all the gallery shops will be open and ready for shopping. You'll be amazed at the variety of products available and at the talent in residence.

julie st marie catering Complimentary light appetizers will be served to you by Capital Teas will provide samples of its refreshing brewed iced teas.

pearl necklace oyster stout Green Drinkers will select from two varieties of Flying Dog beer available donated by event sponsor Flying Dog Brewery. We are featuring Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout and Dead Rise Old Bay Summer Ale. Both have a connection to stewardship of the Bay.

Every bottle of Pearl Necklace sold enables the Oyster Recovery Partnership to plant 10 oysters in the Bay.  Learn more. Dead Rise was brewed to celebrate Old Bay's 75th anniversary and proceeds benefit True Blue, a program that advocates on behalf of the Chesapeake Bay's 5500 watermen.

A Flying Dog rep will be present to tell us more about the beer and the company's commitment to the Chesapeake Bay.

A variety of wines will be available for a donation of $5/glass. We are buying the wine from Pinkey's West Street Liquors. The local business has been a big supporter of the Spa Creek Conservancy and has installed a permeable parking lot and a rain garden. crabtown curbs cuisine

And, in a new twist for us, we've invited CrabTown Curbs Cuisine -- the turquoise food truck -- to offer tasty food and soft drinks for purchase.

More about the Design District

keep annapolis beautiful

Members of the Annapolis Design District are interested in Greening the area and we will have information on how beautification and landscaping increase property values and attract customers. (Beautification is a core component of Annapolis Green's "Keep Annapolis Beautiful" initiative as an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.)

Want to meet everybody? Then volunteer to help us out. You'll have a great time doing these fun jobs: Handing out beer, pouring wine, directing arrivals and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Parking will be available on the street near the gallery, but it's always best to carpool. If you have a name tag, please bring it.

We hope to see you there!
