It's a Magical Place

The Museum hosted Green Drinks last week. It is a unique location -- the only public space within City limits where you can see the Bay and access the water.

Look into its many programs including K-12 education (over 5000 kids per year learn about maritime heritage and Chesapeake ecology), a lecture series for adults, on-board tours of Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse, and more.

Top of the Line

green drinks annapolis

We were proud to have called attention to the importance of clean water -- both locally and globally -- at Green Drinks last week when our theme was:

AMM We'd like to thank the staff of the Annapolis Maritime Museum for providing their beautiful location to us for this event. Executive Director provided information about the living shoreline that will be installed at the Museum soon and discussed the education program that reaches 5000 school kids a year, teaching them about maritime heritage and Chesapeake Ecology. Please see the sidebar for information about this magical place and all the good things that happen there.

Global
Our event was made possible by Katcef Brothers, local distributors of Belgian premium beer Stella Artois.
Green Drinks hosted the U.S. launch of a global initiative by Stella Artois and Water.org, "Buy a Lady a Drink," to drive awareness of the global water crisis and help provide access to clean water -- especially for women in underdeveloped countries who have to travel many hours per day to obtain it for their families.

Thanks to Neal Katcef, all Green Drinkers left our event with a beautiful Stella Chalice. Chalices were being sold as a way to raise funds for Buy a Lady a Drink, but they are sold out now for the moment. If you took home a chalice at Green Drinks, why not make a donation of $12 to
water.org
as a way to pay for it and do your bit for the women who endure such a hardship to obtain what we take for granted -- clean water.

Local
We introduced a local initiative to protect Back Creek with the formation of the Back Creek Conservancy so interested citizens can speak for the Creek and undertake projects to improve its health. The Museum will be an active member of that effort and volunteers are welcome. Learn more and get involved!

baroak julie st marie catering We owe a big thank you to Baroak Cookhouse & Taproom, the new restaurant in Loews Annapolis Hotel; and Julie St. Marie Catering/Event Coordination. The Eastport rentals to remember Liquors appetizers were awesome! And thank you to for providing Wente Vineyards wine. And  finally, thank you to Rentals to Remember for making our setting so beautiful!

We believe we set a new record for attendance -- at least 250 people. This shows us that there is interest in the health of our waterways! We are delighted to provide a venue for these discussions to occur and for all the great connections that take place during Green Drinks!

Save the date for our next Green Drinks: Tuesday, May 12 at the newly reopened Chart House! Want to sponsor that event? Contact us to learn more.

Hit the Road with Annapolis Green!

Annapolis Green wants to set the example around town in an EV, an electric vehicle! We're "putting in a plug" for support to do so.

We need help with the up-front payment required for a car lease and with the monthly payment. In exchange, we will display your company logo on the "wrap" on the car and provide other marketing benefits. An electric car would be part of our promotion of emission-free energy and would make a statement about the viability and Earth friendly benefit of driving electric!

Can your company help with this? Please contact us for details.
Join Our Growing List of Sponsors Helping Us Green Area Events!

Responsible Events & Festivals, our festival greening program (The Green REF), is getting to be well-known. Planners of regattas, foot races, rowing races, and more, are now asking us to help Green their events. Find out how we can help and how your organization can be involved.

Our REF program is based on sponsorship.

We look for companies - in any sort of business - that would like to Make the Right Call and connect their brands to our recycling and composting educational efforts.

Sponsorship makes it possible to cover the expenses associated with making these good things happen! If you know of a company that might like to be a part of this exciting program, please contact us AND them. Tell them why you support Annapolis Green, put them in touch with us and we'll do the rest.

We also welcome corporate volunteers who can help us with set-up and break-down at REF events. A REF event could be a great team-building initiative for your company.

Together, let's turn the tide and make this Festival Season a Green one!
