Thursday, April 16
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Annapolis Maritime Museum
723 Second Street Theme
Thursday, Annapolis Green will join with Katcef Brothers, Stella Artois premium Belgian beer, and Water.org for a very special Green Drinks Annapolis event with a local and global focus: It's All About the Water.
A $10 donation to Annapolis Green will be requested at the door (cash preferred, or Visa/MC). Appetizers, beer, cider, wine and soft drinks will be free and everyone will leave with a complimentary Stella Artois Chalice keepsake, to be offered after the video and announcements.
|
Locally,
Annapolis Green will introduce a local initiative to protect Back Creek with the formation of the Back Creek Conservancy so interested citizens can speak for the Creek and undertake projects to improve its health. The Museum will be an active member of that effort and volunteers are welcome.
Globally, Green Drinks will host the U.S. launch of a global initiative by Stella Artois and Water.org, "Buy a Lady a Drink," to drive awareness of the global water crisis and help provide access to clean water -- especially for women who have to travel many hours per day to obtain it for their families.
We will give Green Drinkers the opportunity to purchase Chalices as they enjoy complimentary Stella Artois and Stella Cidre, or wine and soft drinks. And, a short video about Buy a Lady a Drink will be shown that demonstrates the need. Read more about Buy a Lady a Drink.
Our complimentary appetizers will be provided by Baroak Cookhouse & Taproom, the new restaurant in Loews Annapolis Hotel; and Julie St. Marie Catering/Event Coordination Yum! Wente Vineyards wine will be provided by Eastport Liquors. Our setting will be just lovely thanks to the generosity of Rentals to Remember.Housekeeping
- Bring your name tag from work, if you have one.

Responsible Events & Festivals, festival greening program (The Green REF), is getting to be well-known. Planners of regattas, foot races, rowing races, and more, are now asking us to help Green their events. Pick up a card at the Green Drinks information table and find out how we can help and how your organization can be involved.
Our REF program is based on sponsorship. We look for companies - in any sort of business - that would like to make the right call and connect their brands to our recycling and composting efforts. This makes it possible to cover the expenses associated with making these good things happen. If you know of a company that might like to be a part of this exciting program, please contact us AND them. Tell them why you support Annapolis Green, put them in touch with us and we'll do the rest.
Together, let's turn the tide and make this Festival Season a Green one!
