Thursday, April 16
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Annapolis Maritime Museum
723 Second Street Theme
Thursday, Annapolis Green will join with Katcef Brothers, Stella Artois premium Belgian beer, and Water.org for a very special Green Drinks Annapolis event with a local and global focus: It's All About the Water.
A $10 donation to Annapolis Green will be requested at the door. Appetizers, beer, cider, wine and soft drinks will be free and everyone will leave with a complimentary Stella Artois Chalice keepsake, to be offered after the video and announcements.

Locally,
Annapolis Green will introduce a local initiative to protect Back Creek with the formation of the Back Creek Conservancy so interested citizens can speak for the Creek and undertake projects to improve its health. The Museum will be an active member of that effort and volunteers are welcome.
Globally, Green Drinks will host the U.S. launch of a global initiative by Stella Artois and Water.org to drive awareness of the global water crisis and help provide solutions -- especially for women.
Every day, women around the world spend a combined 200 million hours collecting clean water for their families. They walk many miles to obtain what we take for granted -- clean water -- often putting their lives at risk doing so. The "Buy a Lady a Drink" campaign aims to help put a stop to these water-collecting journeys, so women can start new journeys of their own.
Stella Artois has made a donation of $1.2 million to Water.org -- which was co-founded by Matt Damon -- and is now inviting the public to join the cause by purchasing limited edition Chalices. One Chalice will help Water.org provide five years of clean water to one person in the developing world. We will give Green Drinkers the opportunity to purchase Chalices as they enjoy complimentary Stella Artois and Stella Cidre, or wine and soft drinks. And, a short video about Buy a Lady a Drink will be shown that demonstrates the need. Our complimentary appetizers will be provided by Baroak Cookhouse & Taproom, the new restaurant in Loews Annapolis Hotel; and Julie St. Marie Catering/Event Coordination Yum! Wente Vineyards wine will be provided by Eastport Liquors. The 45th Annual Earth Day is April 22, but come to Green Drinks to celebrate early. Do plan to join Annapolis Green as we truly Think Globally and Act Locally during Earth Day month.

PS - Want to meet everybody at Green Drinks? Volunteer to help us greet and register our attendees. We'd love to have the help and you'll have fun!

We had planned to complete our requirements for affiliation with Keep America Beautiful this month and celebrate affiliation with a ceremony at Green Drinks on Thursday, but we've found that we need more time. Our plan is to do this at the May 12 Green Drinks.
We're joining this venerable organization because of the opportunities it offers, for the good of the community, in the form of program grants; state, regional and national collaborations; and more.
