Save the Date!
Wednesday, Jan. 7
Galway Bay Irish Pub

63 Maryland Avenue, Annapolis
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Theme: Environmental Legislative Preview - State & County
Our event will feature the cozy atmosphere of Galway Bay Irish Pub -- perfect for a winter evening and complimentary, fabulous, healthy appetizers. A cash bar will offer your favorite beer or other beverage. And best of all, there will be plenty of time to catch up over the holidays and to discuss what might be on the horizon for the legislative session that will start just a week later, on January 14.
Then at 7 p.m., you can step across the street for a deeper discussion of these issues at a Legislative Preview event hosted by the Maryland League of Conservation Voters, at 86 Maryland Avenue.
Among the topics to be covered are:
- Phosphorous Management Tool
- Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard
- Fracking
- Defense of the Stormwater Legislation
- Environmental Justice, pesticides, and
- County Legislation
If you don't know what these issues are all about, here's your chance to find out and to learn how you can get involved.
Galway Bay, a Maryland Green Travel Partner, is one of the Greenest restaurants in the area in its operations and the sourcing of its food.

The Military Bowl Tailgate Goes Green

Anheuser Busch is one of the sponsors of the Military Bowl, to be held tomorrow, Dec. 27, at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. It's Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati. We're pleased to tell you about the sustainability efforts of Anheuser Busch, a Keep America Beautiful partner and sponsor of Annapolis Green's "Do Good. Have Fun." clean-up of the Ellen O. Moyer Back Creek Nature Park last summer.
Anheuser Busch's local distributor, Katcef Brothers, has, for years, embraced sustainability. At the Military Bowl tailgate, look for big can-shaped recycling bins Katcef is bringing to the "Build-a-Bar" and do your part: Recycle! And Enjoy Responsibly! Thank you, Katcef!
Click on the Military Bowl logo for game day details including the parade -- starting at 9 a.m. at City Dock -- led by the Clydesdales! Follow the action on Twitter with @eyeonannapolis. Use #MilitaryBowl14
