Let's raise a glass to this informative program! Our guests and topics have covered the environmental waterfront. Have a look -- and a listen -- at annapolisgreen.com/radio.

We've launched our new Festival Greening brand!
We kicked off our Responsible Events & Festivals (REF... Make the Right Call.) program with the Chesapeake Bayhawks game on July 31 and the Rotary Crab Feast on Aug. 1. Both were held at the Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Read more below.
Thank you to Maryland Sports and Realtor Kristi Neidhardt... Your Eco-Agent, for sponsoring the REF program at these events!

69th Annual Rotary Crab Feast Goes ZERO-WASTE!

The Rotary Club of Annapolis worked with Annapolis Green to make this year's Crab Feast a ZERO-WASTE event. Some 10 TONS of food waste are now being composted at our the facility of our composting partner, Veteran Compost, in Aberdeen. Working with our recycling partner, WasteStrategies, we collected close to 2000 pounds of recyclables. All that -- the food waste and the plastics, paper and cans -- would have gone to the landfill without our program. And, as two added benefits, crab feasters learned about recycling and composting, and the clean-up at the end was quicker! Volunteer Rotarians, who worked really, really hard, were a delight to partner with -- getting into the spirit of stewardship of our resources. Thanks so much to our volunteers: Rita, Meghan, Leslie, Karin and Ken. Read more...

Do Good. Have Fun.
This was our first official event with Keep America Beautiful a nd our first "shovels in the ground" event. Some 70 volunteers showed up to Do Good -- a clean-up and refresh of the Back Creek Nature Park -- and Have Fun!
The clean-up was accomplished in just three hours and we did a lot, mulching, hammering, scrubbing, planting, painting and more. Read more...
