We had a great time at Blackwall Hitch last Wednesday, with a big crowd, fantastic appetizers, the Chesapeake Bayhawks' mascot, Hawk-Eye, and a terrific, enthusiastic vibe. See more photos on our website and Facebook.
We'd like to thank Susan, Jessica, Chuck and the staff at Blackwall Hitch for their hospitality and for the tickets to this weekend's Irish Festival that we gave away to Green Drinkers.
We hope you'll return again and again to enjoy their terrific food and atmosphere! The restaurant has received its City of Annapolis Environmental Steward certification and is a welcome addition to the growing list of restaurants that source locally as much as possible, recycle, and generally operate in away that cares for the Earth. For information on the restaurant's stormwater management parking lot, see the Spa Creek Conservancy website.
And thank you to the Bayhawks staff members who brought that team spirit to Green Drinks, along with their huge championship trophy.
We want you to get that infectious spirit too. That's why the Bayhawks have given us a unique promo code for a discount on tickets for the July 31 Go Green Night. The game will be played at the Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. We encourage you to wear green that night. Get the promo code on our website.
And thank you, Bayhawks, for the game tickets we gave away to Green Drinkers.
We had a lot of new "First Timers" at Green Drinks. If you're one of them, join us at our park clean up event on July 26 and at the Bayhawks game on July 31 and get to know more people who care about the environment and like to Do Good AND Have Fun.

Compost those Crabs!
Annapolis Rotary Crabfeast, August 1 -- Compost those crabs! Annapolis Green is working with the Rotary Club of Annapolis to this 69th annual event ZERO-WASTE!
That means everything will be recycled or composted -- nothing to the landfill. Nearly 2,500 people are expected to attend and finish off 350 bushels of crabs, 3,400 ears of corn, 100 gallons of crab soup, 1,800 hot dogs, 150 pounds of beef barbeque, and hundreds of gallons of soft drinks and beer. Look for our Eco-Stations! The crab feast is not only a blast, it also supports Rotary's great work in our community. Read more.
