Dartmouth's Big Green Bus Visits Annapolis
Annapolis Green recently welcomed Dartmouth College's Big Green Bus to City Dock. Dubbed "vehicle for change" the Big Green Bus is home to 12 Dartmouth students who will spend the summer crossing the country spreading the word about sustainability and gathering people's stories on the topic everywhere they go. For the Annapolis visit, we asked them to focus on clean water and the Chesapeake Bay. We brought together a crew of "storytellers," who shared their time and insight with these impressionable students. Thank you to all who joined us to tell their own stories as well as to the National Sailing Hall of Fame for use of their parking spaces. Thank you also to Phillips Crab Deck for providing us space to gather and a crabcake sandwich lunch to round out the students' short, but memorable, Annapolis morning!

Chamber of Commerce Business Awards
The Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is calling for nominations for its Business Hall of Fame awards to be held in October.
The categories are: - Business Leader of the Year
- Entrepreneur of the Year
- Non-Profit of the Year
- Small Business of the Year
- Green Company Award
- Don Riddle Corporate Citizenship Award
We encourage you to nominate companies and organizations for these awards, especially for the Green Company Award. Here's why: - To significantly raise the company or organization's community or business profile - there is no better way to showcase a business and its accomplishments.
- Give the company or organization recognition to take their business or work to a new level.
- Publicly thank them for a job well done.
Nominations will be accepted for businesses, organizations and individuals located in Anne Arundel County and candidates for awards must be nominated by an independent third party. Nominations are due on August 9. You can see the criteria for each category by clicking here. For more information about the awards and to download the application form for each category, click here. The Green Company Award will be given to a business that demonstrates extraordinary performance related to sustainable environmental practices such as water conservation, wastewater management, the promotion of alternative transportation and trash, energy conservation, on-site renewable energy production, the purchase of renewable energy, and sustainable food production.
