Top of the Line
The June Green Drinks is going to put the spotlight on Maryland's Green businesses by hosting the Department of Environment's Maryland Green Registry Leadership Awards!
Tuesday, June 11
5:30 - 7:30 p.m. 100 Westgate Circle, Annapolis
We will join Maryland Department of the Environment Secretary Robert Summers as he presents the 2013 Leadership Awards and announces the total annual environmental results and cost savings as reported by all Maryland Green Registry members. Annapolis Green is a Maryland Green Registry Member too. The Maryland Green Registry is a free way to promote your business or organization, save money and demonstrate your environmental commitment. Collectively, members have saved over $65 million annually through sustainable practices. The Registry is a part of Governor O'Malley's Maryland Smart, Green & Growing initiative.
This month's host site, The Westin Annapolis, is a member of Maryland Green Travel, a companion program to the Maryland Green Registry for the tourism industry, and was one of the state's first Maryland Green Travel Partners. Read the Westin's Maryland Green Travel profile. It also is a newly designated Bronze Level Trip Advisor Green Leader. The hotel also lists its sustainable practices, "Make a Green Choice," right on its website -- everything from saving water to participating in the Global Soap Project. | Read more. The Westin and the Maryland Green Registry will provide sustainable appetizers in the new Annapolis Ballroom and the cash bar will include Maryland wines, in recognition of Maryland Wine Week, June 14-24. You'll have the opportunity to meet many businesses that operate in a sustainable manner -- and they are looking forward to meeting YOU, our Green Drinkers! Let's show the folks from outside our city some Naptown hospitality! Read more about the agenda for the evening on our website. This edition of Green Drinks will run a little bit differently. Our sponsoring organization asks that you RSVP if at all possible. If you can't, then we'll be glad to see you at this free event -- but RSVP if possible by clicking here.
No where else in the area will you meet so many eco-minded people from all aspects of our environmental and business community. Come join in and see what all the buzz is about!
We'd like to give a hearty welcome to our newest Founding One Hundred Sponsor, the Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company! Thank you!
Cheers,
