Lots of Green Going on this Weekend
Read more below about: Maryland Day Grows a Little Greener Environmental Showcase at Annapolis Film Festival Oyster Roast at Annapolis Maritime Museum
Well, it must be spring because there is so much going on this weekend, and next and next too. But before we get to that, we want to say a big thank you to those who made our Green Drinks event on Wednesday such a success:
Homestead Gardens for hosting our event, providing discount coupons and the "Yankee Clipper" bird feeder raffle prize. Chesapeake Bay Trust for being our sponsoring organization and for the Bay Plate Challenge raffle prizes. Watershed Stewards Academyfor being our partnering organization and offering up invaluable advice on stormwater issues and for bringing the watershed map. Did you find out what watershed YOU live in?
Honey's Harvest for donating all the delicious appetizers that just blew everbody away. Be sure to visit Honey's at Herrington Harbor Eco-Lifestyle Resort.
Severn Riverkeeper Fred Kelly for his help. And our wonderful volunteers! Dave Geipe and Justin Sheppard at the bar, Ann Garvey, Muriel Yarborough, Leslie Trott Gibbons-Neff, Cathie Trogdon, and the many others who just rolled up their sleeves and helped out! We had close to 200 people at Green Drinks and were glad to be part of the Garden's Cherish the Chesapeake Open House -- which goes on all weekend. For a list of the very educational and interesting talks and demos scheduled, click here.
We were delighted to see so many new faces and to welcome back those who had not been able to join us for a while. Green Drinks has truly become THE ONLY place to meet and connect with like-minded people who understand that the environment is part of our lives -- the part that sustains and nurtures us!
Next month we'll be at the Rockfish in Eastport -- on April 20th. That was the location of the very first Green Drinks Annapolis many years ago. Stay tuned for details!
Now get out there and enjoy all the great things to do this weekend! Read more below.

Maryland Day Goes Green
The 6th Annual Maryland Day is Growing a Little Greener!
March 22-24
This year, thanks to Annapolis Green and our sponsor, Chesapeake Eye Care and Laser Center, Maryland Day will Grow a Little Greener... signaled by the addition of a green petal on its Black-Eyed Susan logo.
More details are on our website about how we are Greening the event and several downtown Annapolis sites in particular. And, the all-electric eCruisers will be helping us both shuttle our visitors and promote our initiative by flying banners announcing Maryland Day and our Greening sponsor in downtown Annapolis Saturday and Sunday.
