Top of the Line
See you tomorrow at...
Green Drinks Annapolis
Wednesday, March 20
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Homestead Gardens
743 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville
Spring into the Garden Tomorrow!
We're back for our fourth annual pilgrimage to South County's Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville. Just a short drive and don't forget to make it with your Bay Plates!
Our theme and Homestead's during its annual open house is "Cherish the Chesapeake." More than a local treasure, the Chesapeake is lifestyle. Our event will celebrate Homestead's 40th year and its commitment to our local Green economy. There will be plenty of information about how to make your little corner of Maryland more Green this spring with the environment in mind. Learn more about Homestead's initiatives.
The open house will be going on all week. We encourage you to check out the events schedule that includes interesting talks and demonstrations including Rita Calvert teaching about the importance of Sustainable Agriculture. Read more.
Once again Homestead is being very, very generous to Green Drinkers. Everyone will receive a 20% off coupon for one item in the store (almost everything is included) and there will be a very special raffle prize! Read more on our website.
We'll be in for a treat, literally, thanks to Honey's Harvest Market & Deli, a part of Herrington on the Bay Eco-Lifestyle Resort. Honey's is donating sustainable appetizers to our event again this year. We are so fortunate to have great partners like Honey's and like Mills Fine Wine & Spirits. Mills' new owners will be on hand to introduce us to some fabulous organic wines and Maryland beers. Let's give them a big welcome to the area. Among the list of wines are three from Maryland's Boordy Vineyards, one from France and one from Spain. Maryland breweries represented include Evolution Craft, Peabody Heights, and Clipper City. Read more on our website.

Bay Plate Challenge
We're challenging all of you to show off your Treasure the Chesapeake license plates. If you do ... you're in for a chance to win a GREAT PRIZE. Let's see how many vehicles in the Homestead parking lot will sport the plates! Those vehicles' owners care enough about the Bay to pay just a little bit extra knowing that the money raised will help fund the grants given by our sponsoring organization this month, the
Chesapeake Bay Trust. Don't have a Bay Plate? We and CBT will make it easy for you to sign up for one... at Green Drinks!

Our Partnering Organization
is is the Anne Arundel Watershed Stewards Academy -- the army of volunteers working in their own neighborhoods on projects that really make a difference! Look for the yellow tee-shirts and get to know the stewards from your own neighborhood. And if you don't know what watershed YOU live in... the Stewards will help you with that too!
And finally, we'll have a number of exhibits from a terrific group of folks and organizations you'll want to meet as you get ready to tackle your springtime planting and gardening ... and eating when your harvest comes in.
Exhibitors include:
- Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay/ Project Clean Stream
- Chesapeake Bay Trust
- Chesapeake Environmental Protection Association
- Frank Gouin
- Future Harvest/Renee Catacalos
- Homestead Gardens Organic CSA
- Maryland Day
- Marylanders Plant Trees
- Patuxent Riverkeeper
- South River Federation
- Unity Gardens
- Veterans Compost
- Watershed Stewards Academy
Green Drinks strives to bring the environmental message to new audiences, so bring along your friends, colleagues, family... everybody... to March's Green Drinks Annapolis at Homestead Gardens, on March 20. Let's see how many First Timers we can welcome!
As always, it's free with a cash bar in the form of a donation (soft drinks available), and no RSVP is required. Please bring your name badge if you have one ... and for this event, bring your own glass too!

More details are on our website about how we are Greening the event and several downtown Annapolis sites in particular. And, the all-electric eCruisers will be helping us both shuttle our visitors and promote our initiative by flying banners announcing Maryland Day and our Greening sponsor in downtown Annapolis Saturday and Sunday.
