Action to Help Save the Forest on Forest Drive
Saturday, Dec. 8, noon-2 p.m.
Sidewalk at Crystal Spring Farm Road and Forest Drive
Opponents of the Crystal Spring Farm Development, including members of the Sierra Club, Save Your Annapolis Neck, and other environmentalists, will protest the destruction of a Priority Forest by this planned development. The protest will consist of sign-waving -- just as politicians do during local elections. The point of this action is to convince the developer that the project needs to be more eco-conscious, and to convince Annapolis Mayor Cohen to use his full authority under the Maryland Forest Conservation Act to minimize damage to the Crystal Spring forest and wetlands. Top of the Line
 | Thursday, Dec. 6 Midnight Madness Night! Maryland Inn at the top of Main Street 5:30-7:30 p.m. Free. No RSVP. Cash Bar.
Event sponsored by PNC Wealth Management. Thank you! |
We can just feel the excitement mounting for tomorrow night's Midnight Madness -- a magical night downtown, NOT to be missed! Although we've enjoyed the wonderful warm weather, it will be nice to have a bit of a nip in the air to enjoy the decorations and businesses' hospitality!
Start your shopping (local, of course) and socializing with us and fellow Greenies at the Maryland Inn. Our gracious host, Historic Inns of Annapolis, will get us ready to celebrate the season with appetizers, the not-to-miss potato bar, and selection of organic wines, local beer, etc. (Cash bar) We'll "take over" the Inn's first floor to kick off the evening!
Thank you also to PNC Wealth Management for sponsoring our event!
Special treat! We'll enjoy the sounds of the season with live music from Swarbrick & Birney (the Birney of the duo is our own Board member, Charlie Birney!). There is even a possibility for some caroling... and you might even hear a holiday tune belted out by one of us.
Our theme is Celebrate the Season and Support our Downtown Merchants. Along with inviting your friends to join you (and to see what Green Drinks really is!) don't forget to bring your many re-usable bags to load up with your purchases. Bring your nametags too.
We will have a few tables of Green holiday gift ideas, local promotions, etc. Bring your information but remember our space will be limited.
And, do yourself a favor and take a moment to tour around this beautiful steeped-in-history inn, including the Treaty of Paris Restaurant... It is as cozy and romantic a setting as they come!
If you just want to enjoy yourself and not worry about driving home, why not just stay overnight at the Maryland Inn?

Historic Inns is offering a special Thank You rate of $89 for a night's stay. It's good Sunday through Thursday, with the Friday & Saturday rate being $109. What a marvelous opportunity to sleep where some of our founding fathers did or to treat visiting family members too through this Holiday Season. Click here to make reservations.
Remember, parking is free at metered spots downtown (but you can't stay longer than the meter allows) through January 1.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone ... be Green, be festive and let's shop local in Annapolis!
Cheers!
Elvia & Lynne
