Dear (Contact First Name),

Last month we decided to rearrange our studios.  We spent a lot of time on Craig's List this fall looking for IKEA furniture so we didn't have to put it together!  Layl moved her studio all around to make it look more like a gallery and give her more wall space.  More wall space means more pieces for her to make!
Layl has a big lineup of gallery and art center shows in the coming eighteen months.  She needs room to hang the new work she's creating in between the shows.  You can see three of her pieces right now at Banfill Locke Center for the Arts in Fridley.  She even won best of show for her "Caterpillar Blowing Bubbles" piece, below.

Best of Show at the Banfill Locke Member's Show

Josh is busy creating new Cosmic Clouds for our holiday shop in the downtown skyway.  Once again we will open up in the Gaviidae Commons for the months of November and December.  We are ordering a wide variety of new work from our favorite ceramic artists.
post card 2012 downtownWe will have some of your old favorites like Carol DeanNameless WildnessStephanie Kaczrowski and SOMI Tileworks.  Then there will be a whole crew of new artists to check out!

Tile Project of the Month

Zig Zag with One Inch Mosaic Kitchen Backsplash

This fabulous pattern, which we call Zig Zags, is really a simple

4" x 4" tile with two

clipped corners

to allow for accent mosaics to be inserted.  This home owner went with Oatmeal for the main field of Zig Zags and chose over 20 mosaic colors to be dispersed through out the design. Tile setter Jan Hohn of Hohn and Hohn did a wonderful job with placement and keeping the tiles all straight during the installation.

The Zig Zags have a great optical illusion to the pattern; depending on your view point they give you new designs to ponder.

Do and Dye at the Textile Center
Layl was on a task force this summer to create a fundraiser for the Textile Center and now she would like to invite you to this fun event. It's a night of "make and takes" with a room full of fun activities of all kinds: glass, mosaic, felting and more!  Of course Layl will be there doing make-and-take millefiore beads.  Join us on November 7th from 5 to 9.  Tickets are $50 and you can do as many activities as you want! Order your tickets today!
A Fundraiser that's super FUN!
