What's Inside:

Leslie Ellis 09

I have been considering energy a lot recently. The amount of energy I have to put into anything that I do; the self-care and down time that it actually and realistically takes to sustain that energy; the energy exchanges we are constantly making with one another; and the energies that individuals add or subtract through their presence.

This is not a new contemplation but I am seeing more clearly some patterns and have had a few fun breakthroughs. There is a bit of learning curve but like the caterpillar who crawls into the cocoon has to let go of it all and become a puddle of gelatinous goo before she emerges as the butterfly, I am willing to move through the uncomfortable part and learn more and more about letting go to enjoy the deep process of transformation.

I would love to hear from you about your energy sustainability, so leave me a comment!

Blessings,

Leslie

Growing Your Yoga
Do You Want a Date? by Noemi Rossler

Sometimes the hardest part about your yoga practice is just showing up. But remember that the person you are about to have a date with is you.

A good practice gently, but steadily deepens your connection to yourself. It urges you to listen to who you are, and to be aware of your experience in each moment. Your strength and discipline in a long held in Warrior 2. Your balance, or lack thereof, in Tree pose...
DoYouKnow
(visit the blog to read on and see what one of Noemi's teachers had to say about balance...)

Do You Know...
Yoga Private Lessons are for YOU?

The current age of yoga is such that most people experience instruction in a group setting. But do you know that historically, yoga was always taught one on one? Group instruction is actually pretty new and although we think it is a great way to learn and that the benefits of community and camaraderie are not to be discounted, group instruction can only do so much for you - the yoga student.

Do any of these apply for you?

  • You have a new injury and you are not sure whether you should go to class or not. Or you want to go, but you know you will need to modify and want some direction.
  • You have a persistent ache or pain that you mostly know how to deal with in your yoga practice but it isn't really changing.
  • You sometimes have a question but you don't want to interrupt the whole class to ask it.
  • You did something in class that really inspired you and you want to review it or make sure you don't forget it.
  • You just love yoga and you want to know as much as you can about it.

Consider doing a private lesson with your favorite HeartSong teacher!

Schedule your first private lesson during the month of October and receive 25% off!! (One hour lesson is regularly $65 - $120).

New Class Names on the Horizon

We want to make you aware of some changes to our class schedule that you'll notice sometime during next month. Instead of the Level 1 through 3 system, you'll notice names like, "Foundations: Roots to Grow Your Practice" and "Deepening: Nourishing Yoga to Grow Beyond your Roots", plus several more.

Don't worry: the content of the majority of the classes you've come to love will remain just as it is -- we're simply jazzing up the names a bit with the hope of conveying more clearly and creatively what our teachers offer in each of his or her classes.

When these changes do go into effect later this month, you'll be able to view all the information on our Weekly Class Schedule page.  As always, you can click on the name of each class to read its full description.workshops
