February 26th - Tendons and Muscles and Fascia, Oh My!
The number of opportunities to advance your yoga study here in our culturally-rich metro area can at times be overwhelming -- so many different styles of yoga to choose from, many teachers and many philosophies. But no matter what yoga tradition you go with, there's no question that having a clear understanding of your own anatomy can add a much greater depth and appreciation to your practice.

What are some resources for HeartSong students
to expand their anatomy knowledge?

Well, for one, in all of our classes, our teachers pay close attention to alignment in an effort to help you have the best experience in your body while avoiding injury. We also keep our bookshelf stocked with helpful reads to support the work you do in class. (Take a peek next time you're in - there are some great anatomy references there!) And don't forget about workshops - both at HeartSong and all over town. There are some amazing teachers, both locally and internationally-known, who teach here in Portland. Keep your eyes peeled for specialty classes on topics you're curious about. Taking part in these more intensive workshops opens you up to a wealth of information presented by your teachers on topics they're truly passionate about.
