Good Read: The Tapping Solution

Leslie Ellis 09
Greetings!

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful sun and looking forward to the heat later this week. It is gardening time and biking time and I am loving being outside more.

I am fondly looking forward to the summer and have begun thinking about this year's Intensive program. The exploration I am planning should be enriching and eye opening. We will look at some of the more subtle layers of influence on how we behave, feel and perceive by journeying through the chakra (energy wheel) system. I hope you will consider joining me. You can see below more info in our "Did you know?" section.

For another lighthearted look at how some of us might be both subtly influenced but also expressing our unconscious views, take a look at my blog for this month.GrowingYourYoga

Om Shanti,
Leslie

Growing Your Yoga
Holding the Bird's Nest by Toby Shulruff

There is a bird's nest in the tall bushes above the creek, to your left as you look out the studio windows. If you remember to look for it the next time you're in the studio, you may not see it. As the Spring grows toward Summer, the bush fills in with leaves, concealing the nest within.

"Your body is a temple," is an idea woven through many spiritual traditions. When we imagine a temple, sometimes we think of stones, rocks, a fortress. Some other temples are open, welcoming in seekers, welcoming in the natural world. During holy days, temples are clothed in flowers, bright colors, fruit, incense, or other elements of nature that call to our senses. To read on, visit the HSY blog...

Toby teaches Gentle Yoga on Thursdays at 4pm.

She will also be leading a couple of exciting new offerings beginning this spring-- Mama Moves Yoga, a mom and baby series and Wholly Mama Yoga, a monthly workshop designed to giveDidYouKnow new moms-- and not so new moms!-- a time to unwind.

Did You Know...
You're Made Up of More than Muscle and Bone?
Chakras

Chances are you probably did, but allow us to explain. Through history, the yogis have talked about us being made up of energy more so than physical matter. Studies in the fields of neurobiology and quantum physics are beginning to validate this. The way energy is expressed and worked with in yoga is through the chakras, which we can directly affect through asana, pranayama and meditation.

Each year, we offer a Summer Intensive yoga series to encourage students to commit to their practice by attending up to 3 additional early morning yoga classes per week. This year, the focus will be on the chakra system, an incredible lens through which to view and more deeply understand your yoga practice and your life. Each week, we'll explore a different chakra through specific practices focused on energy senses.

Are you intrigued by this system and would like to deepen you knowledge of it? Our upcoming program, "Summer Intensive: Balance Body Mind & Heart Through the Chakras" will help you do just that.

Save the date: this program will be offered the weeks of June 17th-August 9th.CommunityCorner

As of now, we are gathering interest -- formal sign-ups will be available soon. Until then, please add your name to the interest list that will soon be posted in our lobby and stay tuned for more info!

Call for Local Crafters and Artisans!

Do you know a local artist who might like to sell their goods at our studio? Are you an artist yourself?

We love to be able to offer fine, hand-crafted local goods in our retail store. In the past year, we've been featuring jewelry, pottery, handmade books and more from local artisans, but would love to expand these offerings in the near future.

In addition, we'd love to know if there is anything in particular you'd like to see us carry. We'll see if we can make it happen!
